Default How "put-together" are you?

I realize that one person's idea of what constitutes "put-together" can vary from the next, but, as a general rule, I think of put-together as including the following things:
  • a well-thought-out outfit that looks complete and fits (ie tailoring)
  • styled hair
  • flawless looking make-up (generally with some sort of lipgloss or lipstick--I'm amazed at what putting a little on can do to a person's look!)
  • manicured nails/nice pedicure
Anyhow, do you consider yourself put-together? I always feel like I'm in such a rush to get to work that I can never really give my appearance the attention it could use. I sacrifice sleek hair for an extra fifteen minutes of sleep I find myself in awe of the women I see who manage to combine all of these elements. There's just something very alluring, to me, anyway, about a streamlined look.

So I guess I'm wondering if anybody else feels the same way or if you could care less about looking completely polished.

Thoughts?

I try. But it is hard. I think my hair, nails, and makeup always looks pretty good, but sometimes my clothes are really wrinkly/fits weird.

I'm lucky with my hair, but it's tough and time-consuming if I want ALL of the elements including nails, makeup, outfit and hair to come together

I *can* be very put-together, but I rarely am. As a SAHM, I am usually in jogging/sports suits or jeans and a t-shirt. I usually whip my hair back into a ponytail or a bun and my nails are never done -- in fact, as I'm typing this, I'm noticing that they need a trim! However, I wear foundation, lip gloss, and perfume every day.

I always put myself together for holidays, special events, or dinner at a nice restaurant with DH. I make sure that no detail is over-looked, including my brows, nails, and hair. I love putting together an outfit with all of the accessories. I just don't have very many opportunities to do so!

I'm generally pretty put together for work everyday. My nails are probably the one thing that isn't perfect everyday, whether it be they are unpolished or chipping.

-When I need my hair to be done properly it looks great. Most of the time I have it in a ponytail.
- Mani/Pedi
-Shoes kept up.
-When I have to dress up, my outfits always look good and well tailored.
-I don't wear makeup, but always have lipgloss on.

I'd say I don't look put together 90% of the time. I'm in a transition period still of using up the old crappy clothes and slowly building up a nice wardrobe without going overboard. It's tough, but like you, I really prefer 15 min extra sleep over doing my hair on a workday. I don't organize my clothes well enough that things aren't wrinkled. I don't take my shoes to the cobbler. I use tinted moisturiser at best, for work. Quite frankly, I break out enough that I try to stay away from make up. And my nails grow out too fast for me to keep my manicure looking good. I do take 10 seconds every morning to brush my hair though.

Eeek. Someone tell us how to look put together!

not very, hmm bad nails when i have nail polish on, neat and not ragged though when i dont, so theyre okay, my hair is messy most of the time cause i dont bother, and my clothes look okay but sorta random... not bad makeup though, so if i had the time i think i would b "polished"

I'm rarely put together. I need 10 minutes, 15 minutes tops to get ready in the morning. I'd rather use the time I save for sleep. The only things I do constantly are keep my nails trimmed appropriately and brush my hair. My nails are not always polished. I'm usually in a band t-shirt, jeans, and flip-flops.

My 'put together' look is not the typical 'put together' look. I never wear makeup, and if I go to a formal event, I wear nice dark black jeans with a lacey blouse [love'em] and always a jacket or cardigan over. Oh. And some killer wedges. That's as put together as I get!

I agree with you on your definition of "put together." I'd probably throw in high-heeled shoes or boots with that.

But using that definition, I'm only put-together about 6-7 days out of the year -- for weddings and anniversary/birthday type stuff. I'm mostly a jeans, sandals, and sweater type of girl. I do wear makeup every day but it's minimal: natural-looking shadow, eye liner, blush, and nude lip gloss. I don't wear nail polish on fingers or toes. I let my semi-wavy hair just air-dry and stick a bobby pin in it to keep my bangs out of my eyes.

I love seeing the extremely polished and put-together ladies in downtown San Francisco, though. Pretty eye candy!

ETA: ^^ I know exactly what you mean by the extremely well put-together ladies in the "Post Your Outfit Today" thread. I am nowhere near nor will I ever be near that level of put-togetherness!

I feel that I am put together. I put lots of details into the little things (nails, make up, hair, jewelry, shoes, bag--also, i try not to be matchy match, but like it to "work together" instead).

also i have had 6 people *and counting* that i am the "most put together person" they know.

I think I'm put together in that natural effortless way. I'm not "put together" if your definition of that is Dita Von Teese, but I do make an effort to always look presentable. My clothes and accessories always look good together because I'm very good at styling and I don't have to put a lot of thought into it. My hair isn't usually styled but it looks fine on its own because I'm fortunate to have the typical sleek straight Asian hair. I never paint my nails or anything but they're groomed, neat, and filed. I don't wear much obvious makeup but I wear enough to even my skin and I add a little color with blush/bronzer and sheer lipstick.

I think you have a great definition of put together! I always try to dress/put myself together so that I feel I can make a good first impression on someone based on looks, if that makes sense. I don't spend hours getting ready, but I feel like I should always look presentable, you'll never know who you run into! My nails aren't always manicured/painted/etc, but they don't look absolutley terrible either. I always just try to look nice, but not stand out.
