Default Gifts for a Baby

My cousin's having a baby girl and i wanted to get her some really nice stuff but i'm clueless about baby stuff. I have some ideas (posted below) but would like to know if this items are ok and if any of u have any other suggestions. Like brands to get, types of clothes, etc. Oh and I posted here bc most items are clothes but if this needs to be moved then that's fine. Thanks in advance!

i'm thinking of making a huge basket full of designer stuff bc i know she doesn't spend much on that kind of stuff but totally adores it.

That is so adorable! Maybe you should get half the stuff in 3-6 months, and the other half in 6-9 (is that the next size up?) just because babies outgrow stuff so quickly! When my bfs nephew was born the newborn clothes only fit him for like a week and we got him michael jordan booties (3-6 months) and they only fit him while in the hospital.

How about a diaper bag?

OHH this is an EXCITIN THREAD i love to give ideas for babies they are sooo cutee!! :

1st of all i recommend that you give her different sizes because sometimes they stop fittin fast and give her useful things for like some months at least.
MY IDEA ITS THIS GET THE BATH TUB FOR BABY because thats gonna last alot im not sure if thers a designer one, and put all the baby stuff in there and wrap it as a gift...

BRANDS:
RALPH LAUREN (has very cuteee dresses in two tones colors)

I really like Ralph Lauren my niece uses it alot and its very durable, we bought juicy couture once its durable as well but the fabric on polos are very cute on babys!, also get some burberry its a classic cuz of those stripes lol.

TIPS:
Get a few dresses like the shown above ^ but get also more regular shirts and you can also get her a robe for babies ive seen somewhere so it can go with the tube .

get her towels thats what they need the most, and i honestly recommend to include some dr.brown's bottles because this is the top brand bfore avent (which was bfore the best one) becasue thes baby bottles now give less gas to the baby and its easier and more comfortable for them!thats not a designer and she can get herself but it would be a good idea to include em so she can try it and like a test! and a pacifier on avent are perfect. i honestly dont know if designer pacifiers are very recommended or maybe they are very cute though!...

aggghh i wont end 2day so many stuff you can include lol!!

oh yea if you dont like the bath tub idea one you can put it on a nursery basket ive seen some in target.com and walgreens(again i dont kno if they have designers on those) they are very cute and useful later on.

include a bottle of parfum a designer one my niece has bvlgary for baby its very long lasting no matter how many milk she dropped lol and it has a very nice smell! and along with the shampoo and soap i found them last time at berdgorf http://www.bergdorfgoodman.com/store...emId=prod13430

i dont kno if theres another designer parfum either search around!. theres so many things oh yea and get sockss and lil shoes!!! okkk lol !!

If you find some you like, Onesies that snap down the front are the easiest for dressing new wiggly babies.

Check out this site, they're not a "designer" brand, but their clothes are so cute especially for girls and the quality is excellent. Their gift boxes are really cute too (I'm a sucker for cute packaging though..lol).

Love your ideas. Sizing is very hard, and getting different sizes is a great idea. My little girl is very small overall, and is 1 yr and is still wearing 9 month size items in most things. Also, just like sizing runs differently from brand to brand/designer for adults, I have found that certain brands/designers fit her better than others too.

i think in the 1st couple of weeks they are in baby grows more than anything. I think you have some really nice ideas. I have a childrens clothes shop an sell ralph an it is really really nice very wearable. Another really nice one is Jean Bourget some of the stuff is very classic.
DKNY baby comes up very small. Kenzo is another one that is really cute an bright!

What a lovley present she is going to get.

P.S about the dummies i would stay away just because all babies like different types of dummies there are quite a few different types.

Those clothes are sooo cute! Love this thread! My niece had a baby boy in Feb and I still haven't gotten him anything. Now and then I check NM for baby stuff but don't know if she would really appreciate the designer stuff. I know I would if I had a baby. But all baby clothes are cute whether designer or now.
