Has anyone ever tried Genetic Denim Skinny Jeans? How do they fit in comparison to J Brand? True to Size? Run big? Run small?
As recently as 2 weeks ago I got my 1st pair of skinny jeans and I love them!! I never thought I could wear them because I'm so short and jeans never look as good after they are altered (even with the original hem). Anyway I got 2 pairs of J Brand 10" Ankle Skinny Jeans which I really love because they are very fitted BUT the waist is kinda loose so you don't get the dreaded muffin top ... Anyway, I was looking for a new pair in a different brand and was considering Genetic Denim... Thoughts?TIA

These are the ones I'm interested in... I read somewhere that they run really big but I'm not sure if I should go down 1 size or 2...

i have never tried those before. but if you hear they run big then i would suggest just one size down. just then if its still a little to loose simple alterations can fix it but if you get them 2 sizes smaller then they may be too tight and you would have to return them.

I'm not sure how Genetic's sizing compared to J brand as I don't own any J Brand. If this helps at all, I wear sz.26 or 27 in SFAM and TR; sz.27 in Paige; and sz.27 in Genetic (the straight leg and flare leg). BTW, I've seen Genetic at my TJ Maxx Clearance rack for $15 - $35!!

I have no clue about the sizing, but I love those jeans. If I see them, I am going to buy them [ in a boutique possibly!]

I have genetic denim.... they're true to size~ but after a few wears.. they stretch out a lot! So i'll put it through the dryers everytime. I have the ones similar to the picture above^ Except that my zippers are inside the legs vs. outside. You'll love them~ they'll really comfortable and it's a better style for summer days (espeically since the fabric is not as thick). Compared to jbrand- honestly both brands are about the same, the stretchiness/thiness of the denim.
If you really want to go down a size.... then 1 size down would be perfect. But sometimes i prefer my jeans to be fitted and yet sometimes loose/baggy ... so i decided to keep it true to size. |
