Well I'm loving all the vintage clothes I've seen on this thread!

I have a 1970s YSL le smoking, J' adore (inherited)

Ossie Clark mid-1970s silk jersey maxi with sequin bodice and shoestring straps (inherited)

CHANEL hand-painted python bomber jacket (still paying CC on it)

1970s CHANEL Haute Couture suit (inherited) I've had it for 12 years and I've never worn it yet!

I was at goodwill today and found a knit inside out dress, looked strange but before passing over it I decided to flip it right side out and take a look at it. It was a st. John for jacobson's knit dress. Quite lovely and blue (no belt) and the buttons were SJ in gold. I picked it up, then a few dresses down I found a white/cream one with a lovely belt!

So two dresses in one day, $13 spent on both.

I <heart> this thread.

Seeing everyone's vintage finds is a real treat for me. I love vintage, years ago I didn't but now I can appreciate it more.

Someone asked if we buy something because of the label and for me it's a yes and no. I've seen vintage things at thrift stores, didn't buy and deeply regretted it and some that I did buy and they just sit in the closet. I am getting much better, I come across Escada often and most of their older stuff is pretty ugly so it's easy to pass up.

Last week I went to an estate sale for a woman who was a former model of Bill Blass. Apparently they were on good terms since after she retired he would still send her clothing that was custom made for her. To be honest most of it looked like drapery fabric but it was neat to go see. There was one Chanel sleeveless blouse that was hard to pass up but I did, mostly because they wanted $90 for it and I really can't afford that right now.

This is my black vintage CHANEL suit, bought from Libertys. The blazer is very wearable, and so is the skirt though I never wear them together... notice the CHANEL no5 buttons.... sooooo sweet
