Default do you hem your maxi dresses?

I just bought a few maxi dresses and they are ALL too long! i'm not exceptionally short either (5'6") so it's so annoying.... I've decided I have to get them all hemmed otherwise i will step all over them when i wear flats. do you guys get your maxi dresses hemmed, or do you hold the dress up while you walk?

It's definitely worth it to get it hemmed! I would hate having to hold up the dress everytime I wore it, esp cause I'm usually carrying a bag or something. I doubt it'll cost too much either cause it's really simple - you might even be able to do it yourself. Good luck!

I do, otherwise the same would happen to me. And I it definitive is worth doing it otherwise you won't wear the dresses. And in that case it would be better to return them.

I think long dresses look nice if they just skim the ground (hovering but not quite touching), otherwise they look flood-like. But you have to be careful going up stairs - definitely hold the skirt part in your hand, and when you go downstairs, make sure you do it quickly enough that people don't step on your skirt.

You should hem it, or else you will be holding up your skirt the entire time....

Yes, I think you should. Personally, ankle length is the max i would go. Don't like my dresses or jeans "sweeping" the ground...

i hem mine as long as possible without touching the ground... but i also love the grand-royal-esque-ness of a dress that drags the ground so i have 2 that i only wear in the house (one dressy one for summer dinner parties at my place... and one casual one for lounging around the house with the DH...)
