Its funny that you mention that - fur is very controversial, but I reckon its the only thing that really keeps you warm in SUPER cold weather.

A friend of mine who works in fashion moved from LA to Moscow a few years ago. She was very anti fur, but soon realized that fur is the only thing that keeps you warm during the freezing winters in Moscow.

I love northface denalis, juicy faux fur coat and also my new guess by marciano peacoat. I LOVE it! I also get a few cheap coats from forever 21, etc.

I have a J Crew wool peacoat that is lined with Thinsulate. So toasty without the bulk!

Not a girl, but my warmest would probably be my Ralph Lauren peacoat (purchased at my local RL boutique for 40% off last year after Christmas) or my Michael Kors down-filled vest (Moncler-style) that I got for about 1/3 of retail when Saks had one of it's big sales.

Gah I hate the winter. My warmest is probably my new wool coat, it has a slight cocoon shape so the wind doesn´t sweep from under.

That's not true at all.

Have you noticed that people mounting Everest don't wear fur coats, nor do ice fisherman or any people who TRULY endure cold conditions (a windy winter in Chicago doesn't count).

Fine if you wear a fur coat, but I wish you wouldn't turn this thread into a justification as to why you wear one. Especially since we've had many heated discussions on the topic already, if you do a search.

Hi! I don't think North Face is popular here in Italy, I know it only because they opened an outlet in my area. The most popular coat for the winter is for sure Woolrich and Refrigiwear.
Personally I prefer Woolrich, I never had a coat that keeps me warm!

I also wonder a thing. Woolrich parkas here are around 500 euro, what about the USA? Because I'm afraid they set such an high price also because there is a lot demand.

p.s.if someone is interested I can give informations about where the North Face outlet is in Italy, but you need to be in the area of Venice-Treviso and have a car.

I forget also to say that also Moncler is very popular here!
