Default Can you help me make this dress more interesting?

Hi - I bought a Hero and Leander dress from Anthropologie last year that I loved at the time but now every time I put it on I think it is boring. It is comfy and pretty though and I want to wear it this year. In the picture below it is the 4th dress - the white one without the belt.

So, to spice it up I've tried adding a belt but it still always looks wrong and even worse if I match the shoes to the belt it looks bad and if I don't it looks bad - I think it needs something more.

Then I thought if I could find a very thin vest in an interesting color, and a single button blazer it might look great. But everywhere I look I only find structured blazers that I don't think would work.

I was thinking the outfit might work best if the vest was very thin / flexible - like cashmere.

So - do you think the vest and blazer idea is a good one? Any other ideas for making this dress more fun?

Thanks!

A fitted, waist-length jacket in a dark color like navy would look lovely. A structured jacket actually works with this dress because the dress is not structured.

Did you try a thin cord type belt? It doesn't have to match the shoes. A fabric belt or scarf might work well, especially if it contains a color from the jacket.

You could also get some long jacket (knee-length) or cardigan and wear it almost like a open trench over the dress. Like this Marni shown here.

I love your ideas - that Marni looks like it would work! I am looking for structured blazers online right now also.

I didn't try a thin belt or a fabric belt - only medium and thick belts (which looked wrong altough it seemed like a good idea!)

Do you know where I could get that Marni or somthing like it? I also think I saw a Marc Jacobs one with a black and white pattern but I can't find it online. But then if the whites didn't match it would look really bad so maybe I should avoid white .
