Thank you everyone for you help. I am just having such a hard time with this and where I live there is NO SHOPPING I really do mean no shopping it is awful. I live up in the mountians. Walmart is about all we have. GROSS! Not even a Target. I have only lived her about 1.5 years now. To get to my Neiman's and Barney's or even a good Nordstroms, I have to drive to San Francisco and that is about 2.5 hours. So I have to either buy online or know what I am looking for and get it next weekend when I go home to visit my parents.

Can I wear something like this or is it too low cut? If I wear a wrap in the church?

The wedding is not black tie, just your normal late afternoon wedding but it is a full mass catholic ceremony.

Here is a link to the dress with better pics

Hmm, well, it's long and white....albeit with black print. Personally, I wouldn't wear it to a wedding. But one option might be to throw a colored wrap on top? Tough one, this dress toes the line.

^^^ To be honest, neither of those last two dresses you posted knocks my socks off. The first one is a very casual maxi-dress....the colors make it sort of picnicky, know what I mean? The second one is kind of plain, though it is elegant in that drapey sort of way....it may look awesome if you dressed it up with some gorgeous, dramatic gold neck jewelry.

Shoulder you have your shoulders covered during catholic ceremonies? I'm not sure about that though. Anybody know?

Out of all of them the last one (the l/s violet) is the most suitable. Considering it's a Catholic ceremony I think it would be better to go a little more conservative than the other ones.

Thank you everyone has been really helpful!!!

I think I found better choices. They are from J Crew.

Please let me know which one you like best. I can't decide.

The flower print one is 100.00 more then the pink dress.
I have light black hair and right now I am tan

THANK YOU!!!!

Love the dress but I wouldn't wear it to a wedding. I wouldn't ask the bride--I would just wear something else (more color).

I've been to some southern weddings lately and people were wearing black. I think the dress looks a little afternoon/informal for a 5pm reception, but that's just me.

I'm a southerner also (grew up in both Carolinas) and do not think this really applies at all anymore. Some of the old guard still hold to this concept, but I think it is really dying out with my grandparent's generation.

All black is fine, but a color would be so pretty too. I recently wore a solid chocolate silk dress from J Crew with bronze slides.

I just reread the post and noticed the J Crew dresses above. I would go with the rose. It would look good with your coloring. I think the other dress is too casual. I would wear it to work with a cardi or just out to dinner. Also, floral sometimes look awful in pictures, so I avoid them for weddings and such.

Love that rose dress...
