I've been thinking of trying this out, I see it all over and I think it looks great, but I usually only see it on tall or average height women. I'm only 5"2, and very petite. Will this style make me look even smaller?

I feel like the boots will just cut me in half visually. But I'm not sure. Thoughts?

Also wondering what type of tops you all reach for when you're wearing this style? Is something looser more flattering in general? I suspect that anything fitted won't balance it all out correctly, am I right?

I'm petite--5"1--and I wear jeans with boots all the time. They won't cut you in half visually so long as they end below your knee. Getting boots with a heel also helps.

As for tops, I've worn just about everything. I don't see why you couldn't wear something fitted.

My BFF is maybe 5'1" and does it all the time. I think the key is making sure the jeans are skinny and the top isn't too long.

I'm almost 5'3"

and I do it w/ skinnies.

OP, I agree with Swankymama! Skinny jeans tucked into knee-high boots can actually really complement a petite person's stature. I find that wearing that style makes my legs look longer. Make sure to pair it with a top that is fitted, and you can match it with a cropped jacket or one that hits the hips, or a draped, flowy sweater.

Oh yeah, 5'3" here, meow!

My mom is only 5'1" and 106 lbs, and she just bought the greatest riding boots to wear over her J Brand skinny jeans, I think it actually makes her look taller and leaner :)

^^ Yes, they do! Im 4'11" and I love to rock the knee-high boots (with heels since I am a munchkin) and skinnies. I think it's a great, classic look.

........I wear boots + jeans all the time! I'm 5'2 also. I don't think it necessarily cuts you in half - just be careful with proportions and what you wear on top.

Also if you keep the colours similar eg. black boots over dark grey or black jeans it definitely elongates visually IMO

Mind sharing what boots you have. I'm 5' and I have a problem finding boots since I feel like they make me look shorter.

That's a great question! I'm 5'3" and I've always been too scared to try this out! Maybe I'll muster up some courage sometime soon and try it out!

Same here. so it can be done. I actually own like three pairs of OTK boots as well and they are all high heeled great for little black miniskirt or above the knee cute dresses or tunics with leggings or jeans.

I actually have a pair of riding boots as well and they look super cute!
