Default Can a cashmere sweater be taken in by the tailor? ...
I found a gorgeous Marni cashmere sweater at a great deal, but it's a whole size too big! Am I better off just selling it? Or is there anyway a tailor can take it in? would it be super $$? Thanks!

i'm not sure how much money it would be, (it probably varies from place to place.) but I'm sure it can. Anything can get tailored these days.

yes, it can be taken in.

i had a vintage cashmere coat taken in at the waist last winter. if the sweater doesn't have any seams in the bodice, it will after the tailor is done with it, so that's something to think about, but i am guessing you'd rather have seams and be able to wear it than vice-versa.

i would be sure to take it to a tailor who knows their stuff though. if you don't have one, try asking around or hitting a luxury department store or boutique and asking who they send their things to (the tailors they use are often local and contracted out).

I had this done to a Vince sweater last year. It worked out really well. I would also recommend going somewhere that is very experienced with customizing clothes. I can't remember exactly how much it cost but it was around $50.

You can definitely get a tailor to do this. The cost may be on the upwards of $50-60. I had a TSE cashmere sweater dress taken in and it was $80 - but the work was impeccable.
