Question Bra sizing, fit and comfort

I thought this would be a very interesting thread to talk about. Everyday, so many of us are wearing the wrong size, too BIG, too small, and rarely are most of us wearing the RIGHT size.

How many of you ladies are wearing the wrong or right size?
How many have been for a professional fitting?
What type and/or brand of bra do you prefer to wear? Why?
What is the most you've paid for a bra?
And if you feel comfortable, you can give your size also.

I know I used to love to wear underwire back in the day, but then I just got sooooo tired of them digging into my ribs, now, I mostly wear the soft molded cup bras. I definitely like FULL coverage (I don't like that jiggle effect at the top). Guess I'll stop here for now. : )

What got me started on this thought, was the "Bra Whispherer" from www.myintimacy.com. I think the site is definitely worth a visit.

What are your thoughts??

That website was really interesting. The What's My Size part thinks I'm way off. It's probably right. I sent that link to a couple friends -thanks.
My mom had someone at a store measure me when I was thirteen or fourteen, maybe, but other than that, it's just been based on things I've tried on. And wrong, apparently.

After 3 kids, I'm a 38D. I've always worn the correct size, from back in my very young 34A days to the present. I have even (twice that I recall) shocked the professional fitters when my measured size was as I had stated - so it is pretty rare for women to know & wear the correct size. It would be nice if I were a B or C since off the rack is not cut for bustier shapes than that. I get tired of buttons popping open at the bust & I could buy stock in safety pins. Bras that fit correctly, whatever the size, are much more comfortable and flattering on the whole. I do somewhat miss my younger days when I could skip a bra during the summertime.

How many of you ladies are wearing the wrong or right size? i used to wear the wrong size bras, until i went to a professional fitting.
How many have been for a professional fitting? i have.
What type and/or brand of bra do you prefer to wear? Why? Victoria's secrets bras. They're nice, comfortable, and can enhance your figure.
What is the most you've paid for a bra? $100+
And if you feel comfortable, you can give your size also.

I think I´m wearing the right size, didn´t go for a professional fitting but I ask to SAs in underwear shops.
I like half cup bras or push ups with lace, white or black, I have tried many brands, the most expensive was like 50$.
My size is a US 34A, and here is a useful website tool to calculate http://www.85b.org/bra_calc.php

Well, they have a bra fitter at my Dillards, so I went because I just hated my bras. She fitted me, and all I have to say is why did I wait so long to have a proper fitting done for me? I always was one size off and one letter off. I feel like a new me.

I finally found my perfect size in Hawaii about 8 years ago..... when you do the "measurements" my back always came out as needing a 30, often I could only find a 32 or 34 so for a long time wore 32 C's until I found my 30 D's by a company called Bradelis, I just love them! I can only find them online or in Hawaii but 30D always fits perfect.

I haven't been for a fitting in years and I know I need to, the last few bras I bought were 34D and they fit well. I just ordered a bunch of bras from VS if they dont fit right i'm going to the store to return them and getting fitted while i'm there.

I was fitted once, but I felt she was off with the cup, well, I don't know, maybe she was right, cause at the time, I'd lost alot of weight...

Oh my goodness, you are like me, my back is so small, and I'm always thinking, "oh, a 34 won't be a big deal", of course, then it rides up your back and the bra is sooooo uncomfortable...

I wear a 32 D. (natural) (size 2/4 in clothing)....The ladies in family have big ones...I used to hate it, but they've grown on me...

Definitely, if they don't fit, don't keep, cause you will find yourself not even wearing them if they irritate you.

After Oprah did a big show on bra-fitting I got prefessionally fitted and found I had been a band and cup size off most of the time. I wear a 32 C and had gone so far as to wear a 36 B before, which was so uncomfortable and rode up and provided no support at all. I just couldn't imagine that I was bigger than a B cup!

I like the soft molded cup bras, too, because they are comfortable and don't allow for show-through so I can wear them with soft sweaters and t-shirts.

^^^Wow a whole CUP and BACK size off!!! I definitely bet it was riding up your back...

I've found that most women, when it isn't fitting right tend to have to size too large in the back...

Also, The lady from the oprah show is the owner of the site...The Intimacy Store

I got professionally fitted and I was the same size as I thought. I only think women misjudge their size if they are bustier but I dont have that problem:(

Yeah it's tough trying to find those smaller back sizes, I even have some 32's that I love that I've altered but 30's just stay put so well and give me such great support, it's amazing how wonderful natural cleavage can look with the right bra and no padding! I usually wear a 0 in most tops because my back is so small around as long as it doesn't pull in the breast area, yet another challenge LOL.

I had to put my pride aside and I went to Nordstroms and got sized 3 different times - after about 15 different size combos I found the size that fits me - lets just say when I gain any weight it is all in my chest - the size I am is a bit embarrising so I won't post if but I did find bras that make me look a lot better
I wear bras from a brand called Fantasie
