Default Boutique Shopping in DC

I am going to Tyson's Corner in a few weeks and I only have one day to shop so I need to stay in that area. Anyone know of any good boutiques? I like stores like ShopBop and revolve, but no stores where I live sell that kind of stuff so I'd love to find some in DC!

You do realize that Tyson's corner is in McLean VA, and DC is about an hour away depending on traffic? Personally I think you/d do better staying between Tysons I & II--- way more choices.

an hour from Tyson's to DC? Ummm, if traffic is bad - yes, otherwise you can do it in 25 minutes or so.

My suggestions, go to Georgetown and hit up:
Cusp
Intermix
Wink
Hue Shoe
Sassanova
Pink November
The Shops - for H&M, Anthropologie
Betsy Johnson
Club Monaco

My suggestion is to shop at Tysons Corner (there are two malls next to each other there). Other than that, I'd suggest Chevy Chase, MD.

I'd got to Georgetown. I'd say about half of the shops in Georgetown are in Tysons I and II. Tysons has the big stores tho like Saks, NM, Nordstrom, L&T, Macys and Bloomies tho.

Okay I am from this area and DC is NOT far from Tysons unless you are driving in Rush hour traffic. Plus...during rush hour who actually goes INTO dc? Everyone will be going out, towards MD/VA so it really shouldn't be a problem.

I would DEFINETELY hit up DC for some good boutique shopping.
New stores that JUST opened in DC: Vineyard Vines, Nanette Lepore, Juicy Couture.

for shoes - Hu's Shoes. Best place ever! You will find many unique pairs of designer shoes here so you definetely have to visit just to see the variety.

Other great boutiques:
Wink, Blush, Intermix (my fave!!), BCBG, Barney's Co-op, Betsy Fisher, Propper Topper (they sell hats, it's been getting rave reviews this summer)

Here's another tip - Washington Post.com's Fashion and Beauty Section always has great articles about stores and shopping DC. Sign up for the DC Scout Newsletter to be emailed to you 2x a week so you can familiarize yourself with DC shopping - it's such a great thing to have..I love reading it and knowing when/where the sales are! Also read "Trendspotter" from Wash Post as well, they are always talking about hot new items in the DC area and where to get them. You will get tons of inspiration! The Fashion and Beauty page also has a search box so you can look up any of the stores that other members mentioned in this post :)

You won't get a lot of boutique style shopping in Tysons I and II...it's mostly the "mall" stores (both upscale and normal) like Forever 21, Coach, Abercrombie, Bloomingdales. However you will also find Chanel, Hermes, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Neiman Marcus, etc.

GOOD LUCK and PM if you need anything. I go to Tysons I/II like 2x a week and DC at least 1x a week. I also do a lot of shopping in Bethesda, MD so if you have any questions feel free to ask.

I second Chevy Chase, MD. You can take the redline on the metro to the friendship heights stop. It has plenty of places to shop, plus a really great Barney's COOP.

I agree with the posters regarding shopping in Georgetown.

While Tyson's I and II are great, they tend to have more traditional mall stores/chains versus boutiques along the lines of ShopBop and Revolve which you mentioned. Chevy Chase is a little better, but as far as smaller boutiques with a mix of chains, your best bet is Georgetown. They've got Intermix, Cusp, Urban Chic (upper Georgetown), Wink, Co-Op, Anthropologie (I know it's a chain, but it's very diverse), Sassanova (great shoes!), Hu's Shoes (higher end shoes), etc. Plus, superb dining in the area.

Have fun!!

I second that! Great stores (Bvlgari, Gucci, LV, Dior... Saks & NM).
Bethesda nearby has tons of great eats... I always go there for my "Penang" cravings.

I would recommend georgetown. Urban Chic (they have a website) has stuff that is on ShopBop and always has a great selection. It is located all the way up wisconsin ave, maybe around R street.

Also, Gtown has a barneys, wink, lots of other little boutiques like sugar, etc all similar to ShopBop.
