Default Best designer for a fabulous winter coat?

I need a new and gorgeous winter coat, and would like some suggestions for designers I should take a look at - tell us who makes your TDF coat?

Marvin Richards makes gorgeous, affordable winter coats. They're sold mainly in dept. stores, but I've seen great deals at TJ Maxx and Marshalls.

I agree with the poster that said Burberry - there are some cute Burburry Prorsum winter coats for sale on NAP right now.

I happen to have a Dolce & Gabbana wool winter coat that I love. I think form the 2006 season (I bought it on sale in 2007). I LOVE it, but I don't know if they are consistent on coats.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far: I hadn't thought of Fendi or Dolce, although I have Marc Jacobs on my list, and I'm definitley going to look at all these other names!

Prada, Dolce and Gabbana, and YSL make AMAZING coats! You have a chance at some outlets to get a great coat for a great price since they are out of season. I bought a Marni leather coat at NM Last Call outlet last summer for under $200 (was over $5K retail).

I have my burberry trench for wet winter weather. I bought it a size larger than I normally wear (it doesn't look that big anyway) so I can wear sweaters under it.
My fancy winter coat is this huge portrait collar coat I got from off 5th. I think the designer is Steven by Searle (never heard of it) but it's a cashmere/wool blend.

Next to shoes, jeans, and bags I seem to have a coat fetish. I have a danish military coat and a lot of vintage coats.
