I dont know what region you are in to say how "wintry" it should be. I just tried on a jacket for winter and i loved it. It was the perfect dressy casual type of coat. Looked awesome with dark denim or light wash. i tried it on in black.

for most part agree with many others about burberry but just make sure u aim for the fitted styles ; b/c the others can look rather boxy IMHO.
i like the burberry double breasted jacket in chino and some other ones that are in the look book now they are giving out at the store when u go shopping.

I do like some of club monacos styles.

I agree with Burberry, they make nice long coats. My 2nd choice is Marc by MJ for more trendy coats.

I have a coat fetish also. I love J Crew's coats. They have amazing quality for the price.

If you can swing it, Jil Sander has some amazing coats this winter.

I love, love, love my Burberry ruslip (I believe that's the name) coat so much, I have it in three different colors. It's chic, warm, soft, and I love the waist cinching effect a trench style coat gives (so flattering on)!
