Arrow Anyone find clearing out your wardrobe therapeutic?

Hello, I have an obsession to clear out my wardrobe of clothes I haven't worn in a while (6 months, maybe?) and it feels so good and liberating! To give away to someone who needs it or sell it on eBay so that someone else may benefit from it...

I hate to keep things that I don't use and clothes too, for that matter.

It sort of like also helps me organise my thoughts on the kind of image I want to project as an individual. Not sure if you know what I mean...

Any thoughts?

YES! That is exactly how I feel. I'm currently a college student and I have to work on the computer basically 24/7 to do work and I feel like I can concentrate more when I know I cleaned out my closet.

I just feel more at peace and so refreshed, especially when I have sold a good amount of clothing on eBay and made some money out of it.. instead of having it sit in my closet.

This reminds me.. I need to start cleaning out my closet again. The hard part is just getting myself started

Definitely! I just did this about a week ago and gave all the old clothes to my aunt for her to sell. She was recently diagnosed with arthritis so she's having trouble working. At least those clothes will now be of help!

I recently moved and gave away almost 50% of my wardrobe!! I felt really good since I didn't wear any of the items I gave away!

I do this every winter and summer (when i am packing away winter/summer stuff) and I always get rid of stuff that i havent worn for ages.

Sometimes i have been in a bit of a ruthless mood though and have really regretted giving away or getting rid of a particular item.

I love cleaning out my closet, it allows me to purge the items that I no longer wear and gives me a great excuse to update my wardrobe and add some missing pieces.
Last winter I found a huge bag under my bed of summer clothes that I never wore the whole season.
This summer I'm looking to do a big time purging.
What I do is invite some girlfriends over and we have a clothing swap.
It's a lot of fun and a great excuse to chat and have some cocktails!

I adore cleaning out my closet...although I rarely give anything away!!! I LOVE all of my things...but I do enjoy organizing them...and finding treasures that I forgot that I had!

I love to clean my closet because I cannot stand to keep things around that I do not wear. I feel so cluttered when I have useless stuff. Some of it I give to goodwill, but the stuff that has value I sell on eBay.

I just LOVE it! I used to love having tons of clothes and shoes but now I can't stand it, I like have a minimal amount of high quality well fitting clothes. My wardrobe is a continual revolving door with very few items that I get attached to....after all they're only clothes....

for me it ends up being more stressful because I never complete the process. I make piles of clothes to get rid of/give away, but then I don't do it so I end up moving these piles back and forth from off my bed to the floor to the living room to wherever they need to go when someone is coming over. And then eventually the piles get so messy again that I have to start over with the organization.
