Ok,
I finally got to try a pair of 7's and now I know what all the hype is.. they are comfy and they do hug your body just right. At first my DH said "why do you need a pair of jeans that cost so much...??" I tried them on for him and he said they are worth it .. they really are cut well..thats it unbelievable anyway...I bought home a 25 and 26.. this pair seems to have a lot of give as I can wear either size.I think they are the A pocket..have to double check ..but I got them at Nordstrom rack.... not sure which one to keep..do they stretch/soften up a lot..? I have had other jeans that seemed tight and then with several washings and wearings ended up pretty loose.. is this kind of like with UGGS ,where they tell you they should feel tight and they loosen up..like don't get your Ugg in your normal size ( my normal is 6 -6 1/2 and I wear a size 5 Ugg) cause it will loosen so much you will have to give them away...these jeans are kind of pricey so I want to make sure I end up with ones I can wear... The 25's are tight ,they are not killing me but I wouldnt throw them in a dryer for fear that would be the end of that , the 26th feel nice and are hugging me ( guess they could go in teh dryer on low if they stretch with wear) but I am concerned that with bending and normal wear they will getting sagging or bunchy around the bottom...?any thoughts.. would love to know what to do...plus I got the normal size even though I am only 5ft ..couldnt find any petite at Nordstroms or the rack so I have to get them hemmed.. Thanks in advance for the info/advice! |

I find that the A pocket's do stretch out and loosen up after wash and wear, but less than the ones with the signature squiggly line pockets- i think the two styles are made of different material. I am a 24 in the signature pocket 7's and a 25 in the A pockets.
I bought my A pockets at Nordstrom rack too and almost didn't buy them because i thought they were a bit too tight when i tried them on in the dressing room...but they were so cute that i sucked it up and bought them. I stick them in the washer and dryer and although the fit is initially tight, the jeans really do stretch and conform to your body. you can try wearing them around the house (especially sitting for a while too-this helps me stretch 'em out a bit) and see if they stretch out to what you're comfortable with..hope this helps

the fabric blend of sevens usually make out that it thins in some areas as well as stretch a lot. if you want the denim to hold its shape i would really recommend true religion .... the ones with 99% cotton and 1 % elastin blend

Hmm,
I have a couple of pairs of sevens and it really depends. I have one pair of A pockets that are really more stretchy than others(although they're still comfortable after coming out of the dryer after i get used to the tightness). And then I have a few pairs that only stretch after a couple of wears. You shouldn't be worried about them shrinking or anything like that though! I would say that they definitely become looser over time so by all means, wash your jeans! |

i have a pair and they stretched so much, they used to be figure hugging and sexy, and now they sag so much i can take them off without unbuttoning and unzipping. Not so sexy after all. Thank god they were on sale (about 150 $)...
but i figure, it's always good to have cool relaxed jeans (yeah, i'll keep telling myself that!) |

Like meimeow, I am a 24 in the jeans and a 25 in the A pocket. I find that they do stretch a little, but they mostly form to my body. They do shrink a tiny bit in the dryer, but so do some of my other jeans. I always wash and dry on "permanent press" or on a delicate cycle, or, I will hang dry.
But yeah, they do sag sometimes. Sometimes, I'll wash them and put them on afterwards and they are tight and hiphugging, but over time between that wash and the next, they will relax and stretch out.

Ok ladies,
So ,it sounds like the concensus is to keep the tighter pair? I am going back to try on a few other pairs in other styles/washs as well.. both pairs look good but I dont want to end up all saggy in them.. I guess I will pick a size start wearing and then see whether to move to the bigger size etc. guess I gotta just try out a pair to see before returning the others.. one pair will be sacrificed for the greater good of the pairs to follow LOL !! thanks so much for the advice... also going to check out Joe's jeans in petite and someone else on another post mentioned Paige ? |

I purchased a pair of A's and it definitely stretches after a few wears! I have to put it back into the wash, but I think it just never did fit me properly and it's frustrating to wear. The fabric is so incredibly soft though which might contribute to the sag factor!
Which reminds me of my Jean story, I purchased my Sevens at Nordstrom in Seattle, the price tag said $200+ and I was so tired from day and not finding the right pair of jeans for 2 hrs...I just decided to buy it even though it was a little loose. Brought it to the cashier and it was marked down to $50, but they hadn't marked it! Happy ending, but they still don't fit perfect. |
