nope, shredded cheese.

You might want to make your own, it's pretty simple, and then you can put whatever you want. Velveeta melts the best. Just cube up the velveeta (I use the light) and a splash of milk, microwave for 30 second and stir, continue until completly melted.

You can add whatever you like...I mix it up...sometimes shredded beef, shreeded chicken, sometimes I will do a seafood one with canned shrimp or crab. Salsa fresco, avacodo, sour creme.

Whole thing takes less than 10 minutes.

ooh nachos are one of my favorite foods. I rarely order them out because I am so finicky about them. For me there are two main component- the cheese and the beans. Z-tejas used to make the BEST nachos, but they took them off the menu. If you ask nicely, they'll still make them. I am pretty basic when it comes to the nachos, a mix of cheese (not queso, but melted), black beans (whole or refried) and tons of salty cotija cheese on top! Salsa on the side!

Claim jumper makes some that keep me happy too. I have enjoyed the cheesecake factory's version, put my pal ordered cheese and chips only so it would've been hard to mess up.

I always make nachos at least 2 times a month and they are so good. I use ground turkey and taco sauce then top my chips with shredded cheese then meat and put melted tostitos cheese(heated up) on top of that add some sour cream and black olives and yum yum. Hubby adds jalapenos and guacamole to his.

I love nachos with lots of jalapenos! I agree that the best ones are from the movie theatre.

You can buy cans of the movie-style nacho cheese at Walmart, at least in Texas--I think that the brand name is Rico's. I usually make my own nachos with black beans, chicken or beef fajita meat, and shredded cheese, but there is definitely a place for what I call ballpark nachos--try the Rico's I think that is what you are after.
