I enjoy most Chilean merlots or Cab-Sav's which are usually around $13/bottle.

Another vote for Cakebread, although it is very expensive here in Canada.
I like Liberty School cab from California, Kline syrah from Austrailia, and Duke merlot also fom California. I find whites a little less interesting but have been enjoying pinot grigio.

I love vinho verde wine (literally "green wine") from Portugal. It is not the color green, rather referring to the grapes not being white. One brand that makes it is Casal Garcia, but there are others, as well.
It is a wonderful, light slightly bubbly white wine that is served chilled and delicious on a summer night. It is inexpensive, too, but that says nothing about how great it is! I am a big fan of other wines from Portugal, as well. |

Vinho verde sounds great. I've got a whole list to try now!
My all-time favourite is a nice Brunello di Montalcino (no particular label), but I also go for Mission Hill Pinot Gris or Pinot Noir.

I prefer sparkling wine and drink it several times a week. Veuve, Piper, and Laurent Perrier are all very well known and extremely drinkable. I also enjoy the more casual cavas and domestic sparklers.
Yesteday, I tried Nivole Moscato ($10 for a half bottle) and liked it very much. Sweet and fizzy, like a dessert wine. This was my most recent wine order - all very affordable and easy drinking (great for summer entertaining). I took great care to hand select this mixed case and would like to share I'm half way through the case and they've all been very good!
