From the mashed potatoes, to a casserole thing, even an odd "drizzle" for the turkey instead of gravy. It was disturbing and soo out of left field..hahah. My Mom always tells me that people shouldn't have to approve a menu with me, or cook to my liking- which i can agree with. But, seriously, a heads up would be appreciated! I prefer to have gatherings at restaurants, because I can ALWAYS find something.
Ranch on everything? Ewww LMAO!!
A heads up would be perfectly fine with me... So I can catch the bubonic plague by the time I need to start heading over there...
...Or offer to make and bring something that I'd like.
I just hate that awkward feeling I get when I show up and everything that was made is stuff I don't eat. I mean, what are you supposed to do?
I don't force myself to eat things I don't like.
Restaurants are usually good for me, except I don't eat seafood and so many people do! So when everyone is like, "How bout seafood?" "Yeah, sounds great" "Lets go!"
I'm like, yeeeah... I'll be here when you get back.
Now, applebees or something, that's definitely cool with me! haha

People think I'm weird for eating:

bacon, but no other pork
anything strawberry or banana flavored, but not strawberries or bananas themselves
ice cream, but not milk shakes
the skin of fried chicken, but not the meat
the crust of peach cobbler, but not the peaches
fried shrimp, but no other seafood (except fried fish <--- is this seafood?)

Fish (my parents don't eat it so I never got used to the smell/taste and now I can't)
Mushrooms (texture)
Eggplant (makes me nauseous)
Bananas (smell, taste, texture)
Celery (people always say it has no taste but it DOES and I think it's gross)
I only like my eggs scrambled well done (dry) or hard boiled, no other way
Cooked fruit, it gets mushy

Beetroot.

Can't stand it. Everyone else seems to love it, and I just plain don't get it.

peas
bananas
ketchup
tuna
sweetcorn
mayonnaise (add all 3 of them together and I would rather eat my own vomit)
coleslaw
steak
fresh coriander, probably most fresh herbs actually with the exception of maybe Basil and Rosemary
fried egg yolk, I can only eat the white.
cooked apple, I like regular apples but put them i a crumle or something and
raisins, sultanas etc
cinnamon flavoured anything
onions, finely chopped in things I can take but I can't bite into or chew onions
tomato soup

am sure there are more, I used to be incredibly fussy and would only eat the blandest of foods but i'm getting adventurous in my old age.

things I can't eat that I don't necessarily think other people find weird
olives
raw fish

things I think are weird that other people don't eat
cucumber, how can you hate cucumber
fish, I find it weird there are so many people who refuse to eat any kind of fish

I'm so excited that other people have the same Food Hates as i do!

People think I'm crazy for not liking:
bell peppers (atrocious is a good way to describe it, FrostedCouture!)
shrimp (they're so disgusting, how can you even put it in your mouth?!)
mustard (unless its fast-food honey mustard)
beer (the smell alone makes me queasy)
celery (my roommate left some out on the kitchencounter and I got nauseous smelling it FROM MY OWN BEDROOM)
venison (yes, people eat that here in Michigan - yuk!)
canned mushrooms (so slimy, but I looooove fresh ones!)
red or yellow apples (too mealy and tasteless)
romaine lettuce (absolutely limp and tasteless, just enough to gag me!)
whole/vitamin d milk (OMG, so thick! I feel like I could *chew* it!)

And, here's the weird one, ANY raw vegetables. Not carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, tomatoes, nothing. I hate the crunch of carrots and such, and raw tomatoes are just slimy (although i love salsa!) Yes, people look at me like I'm nuts - i just HATE the crispy crunch of veggies. In fact, if there are onions in my chili and they're the slightest bit crunchy, out they go!

I'm sure there's tons more I can't think of at the moment.

What a fun thread though! I hope I don't develop weird food things from what other people say!

I like whole grain bagels with nothing on them. Whenever I order one in Panera (which is a special treat), they are always begging me to order cream cheese or butter. No one gets why I won't eat that stuff on my bagels.

My sister dated some guy who would NOT drink anything brown. He would not eat Coke or cola, hot chocolate, coffee, iced tea, tea, or chocolate milk. He was an odd dude. I don't know what his "no brown beverages" rule was all about, but he was quite serious about it.

Oh yeah...
I don't eat mushrooms
Or sandwiches. (No subway, quiznos, etc)
Don't eat tuna salad, either. Or pretty much anything with tuna.
Or potato salad, or egg salad.
And the milk I cook with or put on my cereal has to be 2%. But I don't drink milk. lol
I don't eat a lot of chocolate either. Most of it is too rich for me.
I dont eat cheesecake.
