Default Wedding Punch!

Hello lovely tPFers!

I am getting married in a few weeks and am looking for a good champagne punch recipe. Everything I have found so far is kind of...boring.

We are having a very simple cake and punch reception, so I would like to serve a lovely, tasty punch. I want it to be a champagne punch, because I think I need to get a wee bit tipsy to deal with certain family members. (Of course, there will also be a booze-free version for the underage and delicate guests )

So...if anyone has a recipe that they use and can recommend....post away!

TIA!

Whoops! Forgot to add...no cranberry juice (which seems to be in lots of recipes). I can't have it.

I haven't tried these, but they sound good!

Mimosa Punch Recipe

2 12-ounce cans frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
2 quarts (8 cups) sparkling apple juice, apple cider, or ginger ale
3 750-ml. bottles (about 10 cups) champagne

Chill all ingredients well before mixing.

Scoop the orange juice concentrate into a punch bowl. Stir to soften.

Stir in the club soda.

Add the champagne and stir gently.

Float an ice mold. Serve immediately.

Makes about 40 servings.

Strawberry Champagne Punch Recipe

2 10-ounce packages frozen sweetened strawberries, thawed
2 750-ml. bottles rosé wine (about 6½ cups)
1 1/2 cups fresh lemon juice
Powdered sugar or simple syrup
3 750-ml. bottles champagne (about 10 cups)
Ice mold

Chill all ingredients well before mixing.

Purée the strawberries in a blender or food processor, adding a little of the rosé wine if necessary. Chill.

Sweeten the lemon juice to taste with sugar or simple syrup and pour it into a punch bowl
Stir in the puréed strawberries and the wine.

Add the champagne last, just before serving.
Float an ice mold.

Makes about 40 servings.

Watermelon Champagne Punch Recipe

15 cups cubed, seeded watermelon
3/4 cup sugar
3 750-ml. bottles champagne (about 10 cups)
Ice mold

Chill all ingredients well before mixing.

In a blender, puree the watermelon and sugar together, in batches. Chill.

Just before serving, transfer to a punch bowl and slowly add the champagne.

Float an ice mold.

Makes about 40 servings.

The absolute punches include super-fresh juices. Freshly squeezed oranges, limes, lemons. Frozen/bottled juices taste stale.

Use fresh fruit squeezed fresh and added to fizzy water (not ginger ale or any of that sweetened crap) and you will have a winner!

Fruit to consider: lemons, limes, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, pomegrinites.

This one is delicious. Just replace the sprite with champagne. Hope you like it! My sis got married last week and I used this recipe for her shower the month before.
