Sprinkles Cupcake in Bay Area!!

I was at stanford shopping mall, this afternoon and saw that the infamous sprinkles cupcakes will open soon.. august 2008!! i'm so excited and can't wait..

Drool. I wish we would get them here! The closest thing is Sprinkles cupcake mix from Williams-Sonoma. I'm too scared to try them though. I would be addicted, I'm sure.

Sprinkles is pretty overrated, IMO. You can find lots of recipes from the Magnolia bakery, and they turn out great.

^^really? I went to Magnolia Bakery in NYC to see what the hype was about and I thought while good, they just tasted like normal cupcakes I could make at home. Sprinkles has more variety and overall good flavors. All of the cupcakeries in the Bay Area are in SF or the East Bay (with the exception of Sibby's, which requires a dozen minimum order), so I'm excited to finally have one in the peninsula!

I think there is a sprinkles opening soon at santana row also. Off topic, but yogurtwise there is a red mango opening in san carlos soon (yul kwan from survivor is a partner).

I have to agree with them being overrated. We got some when they first opened in Dallas and we were very disappointed.

Just in case some of you don't know-Williams-Sonomoa sells Sprinkles cupcake mix with the receipe and frosting receipe as well. :)
