Ewww...we had a gal who brought in shrimp once...it unthawed and drained all over the fridge...stunk up the office for over a week....we had to empty and clean the fridge TWICE!
Popcorn is another culprit that stinks up the workplace!

I think it should have a no funky food sign somewhere. I would hate to have to smell something I didn't find pleasing to my nose.

but don't you get that all the time? stink cologne, stinky perfume, when someone goes #2 in the bathroom? That's how it is when you're not at home and can't control the smells.. IMO

I don't know what type of office you work in, but in the firms I've worked in I have yet to encounter cheap perfume/cologne smell, or funky food. And I had my own bathroom, so I was good there too.

i work in a huge law firm and encounter stinky perfume all the time. Just because it stinks doesn't mean it's cheap. It means that it's not pleasing to my nose.. but I digress.

I've also worked in large law firms, as an attorney.

So do other people in this huge law firm bring funky food to eat for others to smell?

Eh, I wouldn't worry too much about it, especially if noone said anything.

Thing is, what smells funky to one person might smell great to another...so saying you can't bring something that smells wierd or bad is pretty vague. In that case everyone would need to bring things that have no smell (like what would that be?) or just go out to eat!

I posted above that our cafeteria serves fish on a regular basis... i'm not going to argue with you about it though. Attorney's don't bring seafood to work.. *clap clap* lol

I used to work in a courthouse, and on our floor, there were constant smells wafting through the place...popcorn, spaghetti, seafood, but the worst was the receptionist's cheap perfume, which she insisted on spraying on herself every 15 minutes. I left the place with a splitting headache from it every day. I'd rather smell any kind of seafood than THAT again!!
