Default Rediscovering my love of fresh fruits!

I have been on a fruit binge lately! It's satisfying my sweet tooth without that icky sugar crash you can get after candies and processed sugars.

Grapes, strawberries, lychee, apples, oranges, bananas...yum!

I decided to cut up one apple, one orange, and one banana this morning, and was completely surprised at how much food it actually is. I had to break out one of my "big bowls" to fit it all. I ate it all, felt full without feeling fat and stuffed and I FEEL GREAT!!

Come celebrate fruit with me! What's your favorite?

summer is such a great time for fruit!

I eat lots of red grapes. basically every time I'm craving something sweet, or to snack on something in general, I grab a handful of grapes.

I eat mainly bananas, apples, pears, but loooove when I can get some watermelon or cantaloupe. mangoes are my favorite fruit but you just can't find mangoes with one tenth of the flavor in the US as the ones we have at home in brasil.

Rethinking, I wonder about that this thread might get moved to the Kitchen.

Mods, I wanted to put this thread in H&F as opposed to The Kitchen because I don't cook, so I tend not to go to there, but I can and do cut up fruit for snackage.

I thought this would be a nice reminder for those of us who are trying to remain healthy and fit this summer that there are snacks that we can eat our fill of without feeling sooo guilty.

Mundo... it's mango season in Hawaii right now... I go for my morning walk and there are mangoes everywhere! Yum!

That's great, Junkenpo!

I was just reading about how primates are the only animals who see color and have sweet taste buds, and one theory is that it makes us like to eat fruit, which is super great for us. It's loaded with vitamins, antioxidants, phytonutrients, fiber... good stuff!!

Right now I'm obsessed with all the local berries that are in season, and I always LOVE tropical fruits!!

Strawberries are my favorite, along with bananas that are nice and yellow with just a couple small black spots on the peel.

Tonight for dessert, I had a ton of cherries and some nice apricots.

I also have little plums that I picked from the tree in my front yard, red grapes, more cherries, raspberries, blackberries, and manila mangoes! I love fruit! When I was pregnant, it was my only craving until my third trimester, when it unfortunately changed to chocolate...

I am just after third serving of fruit salad we make with my SO every weekend instead of buying sweets! Its so filling i havent eaten anything else yet and its almost 4 pm .

Fresh pinapple, kiwi, melon, banana and strawberries cut in pieces, with natural yoghurt mixed with a bit of honey and vanilla sticks for the taste. Delicious AND healthy!

also at work we get a big basket of fruit daily to the office, everyone keeps munching throughout the day on bananas, prunes, nectarines, apples, grapes, kiwis...unfortunately we also munch on a lot of cakes there too but its a different story!

I love fruit salad but I'm too lazy to make it. Fav fruits are mangoes (but not the ones in the gorcery store, they don't taste very good), cantaloupe melon and jackfruit (South Asian specialty).

I love this time of year. I'm a fresh fruit freak. My favorites are strawberries, blue berries, raspberries, watermelon, peaches, plumbs, apricots and grapes.

Now I'm hungry.lol.

I eat tons of strawberries, bananas and oranges. I prefer these to cookies, etc. My husband really likes pineapple, blueberries, apples and oranges. We buy fruit every couple of days. It is healthy and we prefer the flavor to other treats (usually).

I love fruit. I eat it all the time. I like Fuiji apples, white peaches, berries, kiwi, grapes. I have this great little fruits/veg store near my house, I walk there all the time.

I really think I could eat nothing but fruit and be happy... if only that was a balanced diet! Right now I've been buying a lot of strawberries and blueberries. But I also love plums and nectarines. And cherries. And bananas. One summer I worked at an agricultural experiment station and since they mostly tested the growth and health of the plants they would have days you could go and pick the fruit/veggies. It was the best summer job ever.
