Does anyone own or recommend a really good Margarita maker? I'm considering purchasing this one at Williams-Sonoma...any yays or nays?

Thanks pollinilove! I saw that one at Williams Sonoma too today...QVC definitely has a better price on that one. I really love the brushed nickel finish on the other one. Not sure if it's worth the difference in price though.

One of the first things I do each time I land in Vegas is go for a margarita by the yard.

What do you mean by Margarita maker? All one needs is a blender. . Here is what I recommend - go buy the "bucket" style mix - in Texas it is Marianos or "On the Border". Get some good tequilla. Mix it in the bucket and freeze it (needs about 10 - 18 hours). Once it is frozen then scoop it into a blender and mix until fine. Pour and add some Grand Mariner on top.

Get drunk. Fall down. But dam.. you had a good margarita!

They had them at Le Gourmet the other day and they were on sale. I believe that the WS outlet had them too. The Margarhitaville ones.

I like mine with salt on the RX and DF makes them from scratch, so no need for a $300 machine.

I like Christine's idea!

Just make your own with a blender. This machine you are considering will be fun at first, but you will get tired of it...the clean up might be annoying, and it will end up taking up too much space or collecting dust somewhere.

ITA w/Christine, when I worked in restaurant, we use just regular industry blender for the bar, nothing fancy.

My co-worker got the Margarita ville one and it sucked. The ice was way to "crunchy" and didn't blend all that well. It's super duper loud and very bulky. Good thing he only paid like $22 for it! I think a good blender is best for one. Oh and I do love the yard one's in Vegas ......can't wait to have one in Oct when I go!

Um, my DBF? He's free, but I'm afraid he offers margarita-making to a pretty limited market... honestly, his drink-making abilities spoil me!

LOL ! You are funny Christine! I don't even have time for all of that freezing and blending. I like mine on the rocks! (with salt)

^yup, all i need is a shaker.

better yet, strain out the ice...and drink it in a martini glass. i don't need the ice diluting my margie, with salt and a little grand marnier.

ooh, it is the perfect time for one!
