All righty then! Ya'll have talked me into just investing in a damn good shaker....thanks!!! Saved me a bundle of $$$! LOL! I actually prefer them on the rocks anyway, but I guess with this horrid heat and humidity frozen just sounded like a yummy change of pace. Cheers and thanks for the advice!

Anything I've ever bought from William Sonoma has surpassed my expectations. That said I'm more of an on the rocks or "up" margarita fan...... I love to make them with fresh key limes, lemons, lime, orange juice, water, little organic sugar, silver tequila, and triple sec! No crappy store bought mixes: )

I agree with just using a blender. I used to bartend and we just used good blenders. Get some good margarita mix, yummy tequila, and triple sec. If you want to be more top shelf you can use Cointreu (top shelf version of triple sec) and Grand Marnier. You can also just make them on the rocks. If you get a silver tin mixer you can shake all the ingredients together and then pour over ice. Don't forget to salt the rim of your glass first. Wet the edge of the glass with a lime, then dip into the salt- use margarita salt - not table salt. Garnish with a lime wedge to squeeze. mmm!

i've had margaritas from both specialized margarita makers and regular blenders, and i have to say that i prefer the blender. it takes several tries to get the consistency right in the margarita maker, plus i feel that a regular blender is more useful in general
