Fried deer steak, chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes with white gravy, fried okra...I love it all! Although I don't make the fried stuff all that often, it's only for a treat these days.

I have family in VA, so when I visit I love to eat my Grandma's country cooking! Homemade fried chicken, yeast rolls, green beans with bacon, greens. But my all time favorite is chicken & dumplings! And Bojangles chicken biscuits & I love fried okra!

YUM!

Oh man......you guys are making me sooooo hungry! Everything sounds so good. I, being a Cali girl all my life, have never had real southern food. Maybe someone will take pity on me and cook me some and send it out this way!!

I live in SC but am from Philly. Do not like country food, esp can't see going to a restaurant to get food you can cook at home like Lizards Thicket. Never eat pork. I do like fried chicken but have not had in a long while. The list is long for what I would not eat. Favorite vegetable is collards b/c up north my aunt cooked some over 25 years ago with smoked turkey and I have loved them ever since.
