Clam chowder! If they're made right, potato and cheese or broccoli and cheese. My old job used to make the most AMAZING chicken tortilla too..

If I am eating out, Vietnamese beef pho with rice noodles.

If I am making soup at home, either beef or chicken soup with Indian spices and TONS of veggies. I have to put some meat in it so my SO will eat it and get his veggies

Is it just me or do an awful lot of men seem to act like little children when it comes to eating properly?

I LOVE SOUP. I eat soup and half a sandwich for lunch almost every day, except in summer when it's too hot. There's a great soup joint in the basement of my building. My favorite kinds are New England clam chowder, potato leek or baked potato, tomato, any vegetable + cheddar (tomato cheddar, broccoli cheddar, cauliflower cheddar... it's all good), and any sort of chili.

^^^ Some more I forgot (now that I've read the entire thread): miso, corn chowder, split pea, minestrone...

Also, I cannot eat canned soup! Not even when I'm sick. I guess I've been spoiled living in NYC for 8+ years, but the soup has gotta be fresh and it better be good!

Corn chowder, clam chowder, chicken noodle . . . .

(Loblaw's sells soups by The Soup Nazi . . . the 'real' one in New York . . . the one that Seinfeld did an episode on. I'd like to try the turkey chili someday.)

Clam chowder. My grandmother would make it from scratch after we went clamming on the WA coast when I was a kid.

I also like the "red" chowder too.

My all time fave is Tom Kha Gai. It is a Thai soup, with coconut milk, Thai ginger, lemongrass, chicken, lime, chili, mushrooms. It is delicious!
