I like to put chocolate ships in my choc cupcakes..I just sprinkle like 6-7 onto the batter and they 'cook in'..they stay firm when cooled and it adds a nice surprise....

I've been thinking of dropping a bite-size snickers or milky way into them next time..not sure how it will bake though..wondering if it would sink to the bottom and create a mess or stay put in the center...anyone ever done this before?

Thanks for all the compliments everybody!:) I'm in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and so far I'm just taking special orders for weddings and parties. I've been wanting to try shipping frozen cheesecake cupcakes, maybe one of these days I'll ask for some volunteers...:) I hope this isn't advertising, but I'm thinking not because most of you live nowhere near me- I would love some feedback on my website if you guys have a minute to check it out. It's www.ClassyGirlCupcakes.com. It's a total work in progress, so please feel free to comment if something doesn't make sense. Thanks!:)

Emmy, are you talking about regular cake cupcakes? I use chopped candy bars in my cheesecake cupcakes, and they work great. In a regular cupcake, I think it depends on the batter. My chocolate cupcakes, for example, have a very thin batter, so a candy piece would fall right to the bottom. But my yellow cupcakes have a very thick batter that might hold it in the middle. I'd be afraid though that the candy would harden after the cupcake cools and be an unwelcome surprise in the middle. Let me know what happens if you try it though!

I really like all the different flavors you have come up with... I can just imagine enjoying them. And I really like how your frosting looks! Congratulations and good luck with your business.. by the looks of it... I bet it's doing really well!
Thank you, you're so sweet!:) I like using buttercream and cream cheese frosting, and I pipe it on. There are some really beautiful cupcakes decorated with fondant icing, but I won't use it because I think it tastes like rubber. So my designs are more simple, but every last bite tastes super yummy:)

That sounds like it would be super yummy. I imagine they would sink to the bottom depending on how thick the batter is. If the batter is pretty thick, then they would probably melt into it and not sink all the way to the bottom. Please let us know how it goes if you try it!

LMAO on the unwelcome surpirse lol!!!! I remember when we were kids frosting sugar cookies at Christmas time..if there wasan 'airbubble' in the cookie my brother and I would pack it with those silver BB's that break your freakin' teeth off!! I often wonder if anyone ever had seriuos dental damage biting into one of those unaware!!!

But yeah IKWYM about the candy hardening again..that's why I was thinking of maybe a mily way or three musketeers...they are soft any ways...I am def going to try it and I will post back..
