The cafeteria at the Metropolitan Museum of Fine Arts had a wonderful cupcake. (I don't know if they still have them because I was there two years ago, but it was a cream filled chocolate one. SO good!)

Yeah I totally agree! When I went the first time I was excited b/c I heard so much about it and when I finally bought one I said "that was it?!"

Cupcakes are my absolute favorite dessert. I just went to Sprinkles last week and, had two yummy cupcakes. I even added my cupcake addiction to my wardrobe: Johnny Cupcakes Clothing — Home

I love cupcakes! For the NYC gals, has anyone tried cupcakes by Amy Sedaris? I heard she has a business making them.

I am sorry to say
but Magnolias is SOOOO overrated.
it is nice and soft but it is way too sweet and t he taste is not reallly anything special.

I'd prefer having cupcakes from Buttercup Bakery. I hear one of the people that were a part of Magnolias left and made their own bakery which is now the btutercup.

their cupcakes are to die for! they have different flavors like lemon, vanilla, chocolate, red velvet (MY FAVORITE!) and a few others and are basically the same price as magnolias.

they have several locations like on the upper west side and around 52nd street and 2nd ave.

I agree, Magnolia is overrated. I think Sugar Sweet Sunshine and Billy's Bakery have much better cupcakes. I'm completely addicted to the pumpkin cupcakes from SSS, they're soooo good!

I bought my birthday cupcakes!

I got a dozen of them, two of each flavor:

Yonge n' Eligible
vanilla butter cake with vanilla buttercream

Pretty n' Pink
vanilla butter cake with
raspberry buttercream

Strawberries n’ Cream
vanilla butter cake with vanilla &
strawberry swirled buttercream

Naughty n' Spice
spice cake with vanilla buttercream
(seasonal)

Peppermint Bay
Chocolate cake with peppermint buttercream

(There was an official name to this one, but I forgot it. It was one of their seasonal cupcakes they had displayed in the window.)
Yonge n' Eligible
Chocolate buttermilk cake with vanilla buttercream

There can never be too many cupcakes. I've heard about Sprinkles. I can't wait.

In SF I've had the cupcakes from Kara's Cupcakes. The Meyer Lemony Lemon and the Kara's Karrot are my favorites.

Kara's Cupcakes, San Francisco Cupcakes, SF Cupcakes, San Francisco Cupcake Bakery
