i tried this last year - it was okay. you could probably tweak the recipe to your taste.
Bacon Ranch Pasta Salad

1 sm. box of shell pasta
1 pkg. of Ranch Dressing Mix
1/2 c. Mayonnaise
3-4 T. bacon bits
1/2 c. peas
1/2 c. shredded carrots

Cook your pasta until almost done and add shredded carrots. When pasta and carrots are done rinse under cold water. Place in bowl. Add peas. In a smaller bowl mix together ranch dressing mix, mayonnaise and bacon bits. Add to pasta mixture. Mix well. Refrigerate and keep cool until ready to serve.

RUBY TUESDAY'S PASTA SALAD (copycat)

SALAD:
8 ounces macaroni, cooked and drained
8 ounces ham, cubed*, about 2 cups
8 ounces sharp Cheddar cheese*, cubed
1 (10 ounce) package frozen peas, cooked and drained
DRESSING:
3/4 cup sour cream
3/4 cup mayonnaise (not salad dressing)
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/2 cup grated parmesan or Romano cheese
2 teaspoons dried tarragon
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

In a large bowl combine salad ingredients.

In a smaller bowl, mix dressing ingredients. Pour dressing over macaroni mix and toss to blend well. Cover and refrigerate several hours or overnight.

Remove from refrigerator 30 minutes before serving. (More mayonnaise or sour cream may be needed.)

*Note: We cut our ham and cheese into quarter-inch cubes.

I know you are looking for creamy but really you must try Catalina dressing with corn kernels and peppers!
I was raised on creamy and that's all I ever made till I met DH. His mom makes it with the Catalina oh wow it's good!

i use a package of the bow-tie pasta

i cut up grilled chicken, put in some mayo mixed with balsamic vinegar dressing

fresh tomato
red onion
cilantro, or basil, or whatever fresh herb i have
bacon cut up small pieces (i keep the pre-cooked kind in the fridge)
frozen corn, pan fried with a little butter until a little blackened
if i have frozen peppers, sautee them with the corn

gosh, i just dump out my freezer/fridge every couple of weeks and make a huge batch...it is always great.

or the taco seasoning instead of balsamic, as the other posters mentioned

i don't really have a recipe, i just dump stuff in!

Mayo base mixed with olive oil. Salt, pepper, a bit of garlic, a dash of paprika and I also like to add a bit of pickled relish to it

Ohh - and peas :drools:

I made the Ruby Tuesday's one for dinner last night - it was sooo hot and humid out. I had to add some fresh chives and parsley and some garlic powder and extra salt & pepper but it's really a good recipe!!!! Thanks
