Default Anyone From SAN FRANCISCO ! Help =)

So my 4 year anniversary is coming up and I will be spending it up in San Francisco..anyway, I heard from somewhere there is a restaurant at the top of a building that spins slowly (I think it's on top of the Hyatt downtown) and you can see the view of the whole city...I forgot what it's called..but is it the Carnelian Room? Because I heard about the Carnelian Room but it didn't say it was on top of the Hyatt so it may be the wrong restaurant. but anyway, do any of you reccomend a fine dining place to celebrate an anniversary? Any cuisine =)

Thank you!

Oh and if you have been in the Carnelian Room would you recommend it?

Yes, the spinning restaurant was Equinox. Never been to the Carnelian Room, but it looks like it has a nice view!

If you're looking for recommendations on a nice restaurant, let us know...most of us NorCal girls (former NorCal girl, in my case) are certified foodies!

The Equinox is fabulous - it was one of my favorite places.. but may I also suggest the Carnelian Room? It doesn't spin.. but it is 52 floors up on the Bank of America building. BF and I had a lovely dinner - their wine list is extensive and views are simply stunning. My building on the next block looked like a teeny dot!

aww Yay! glad you had a great experience there. I was thinking about that place and was wondering what building it was on top of. hehe. I wonder why Equinox closed!?! it seems as though everyone loved it on Yelp (lately)

I have NO idea why it closed - I was so sad! BF and I usually spend anniversary dinners there so I was really bummed to hear it closed.

How fancy of a restaurant do you want? Also - is there a specific cuisine that you prefer? Let me know and I'll do some thinking for you :)

Carnelian Room or The View Lounge both have great views of the city and would be a nice anniversary location. (The View is on top of the Marriott and is probably more for cocktails though.) If you can nail it on a night when fireworks go off....that would be even better!

If you want an ultra fancy dinner, what about Gary Danko, Michael Mina, or one of the many Michelin awarded restaurants that serve tasting menus or prix fixe dinners? They can get super pricey (looking at $125/pp not including drinks) but it would be a culinary experience!
