Ladies,
Do you wear your bracelet and/or bangles on the same wrist as your watch? The reason I'm asking is I was at Ben Bridge today looking for a cheapy watch so I can wear for jogging.....Movado or something about the same price range. Anyway, the SA was completely horrified at the sight of my Rolex and diamond tennis bracelet worn together on one wrist. He said to never do that for the protection of the beauty of my watch. Gosh, I didn't know they shouldn't be worn together. I've seen a lot of women with layers of bangles and bracelets worn together with their watch, so never gave it a second thought. Now, that I'm looking at my watch closely, maybe he's right. Fine scratches on the stainless steel and 18K gold.

My watch gets scratched up whether I wear a bracelet with it or not, just from normal wear and tear. If you like the look of the watch plus bracelet, go for it.

I've always thought that wearing a bracelet and a nice watch together looked lovely. But if one or the other gets scratched, I probably wouldn't do it.

I never do that only because it is not my habit. Just like I always wear my watch on my right hand and I'm also right handed. I guess I'm weird. I say do what you find comfortable. For me, wearing a watch and bracelet would not be comfortable on the same arm. Also, wearing a watch on the left wrist would not be comfortable. I say do what makes you feel comfortable.

I guess it would be the same as wearing too bracelets on the same wrist... maybe over a long period of time they may show a little wear from being rubbed againist each other...but, a watch or bracelet rubbing against anything over time will cause minor scraches and wear against the metal. I don't nessesarily think wearing a watch with a bracelet would be worse for the watch then just normal wear overtime. Tons of people wear a bracelet, especially tennis bracelet style with their watch! My mother has always worn a bracelet with her watch and her watches are no worse off from wearing them together.I have seen your watch and bracelet pics and they look great together!

I wear my watch on the left hand and usually a diamond tennis bracelet on the right, but I almost think this may be more dangerous than wearing them on the same hand. The sapphire crystal face on my Movado got totally scratched up (and I am not hard on my watches at all) and I think it's because I would sometimes accidentally rub my right wrist (diamonds) against my left (watch face) and the diamonds would scratch it up the crystal. Since then I have gotten an Omega with more of a curved crystal face. I have not noticed the face getting scratched up, but the polished band gets all scratched up anyways from daily wear.

Yah, that's what the SA told me. It's all that rubbing and spinning from the tennis bracelet due to normal wrist movement that can cause my Rolex to scratch. He said 18Kt is soft. So, far, I've been quite lucky and only see minutes scratches. The 18Kt gold portion of the jubulee is not as smooth as when it was first purchased and I don't bang on things. I really enjoy wearing the bracelet and watch together and have done so since I got my watch. I really enjoy this look, and in fact, when it's time for my service, I'd have Rolex add diamond markers for more bling. The SA's comment came as a surprise.

Thanks for the nice comment. I tried wearing my two dia. bracelets on the same wrist, and boy, if was annoying and too flashy. Btw, did you ever get your diamond bracelet? I remember you posted here about getting one. Would love to see a picture.

Thank you everyone for your input. Despite the SA's comment, I still like working both my watch and bracelet together.

Yeah I had a jeweler scold me for wearing my tennis bracelet w/ my watch. He said the diamonds will scratch and damage the sapphire crystal of the watch. I love the look together too but now I'm scared I'll ruin my Cartier watch.
