The composition:
Mainly calcium carbonate (about 82 to 86 per cent). Pearls keratinocytes 10 to 14 percent, 2 percent water.

The hue:
Consisting mainly of white, milk can be a color, bright yellow, Liang Mei Guise, variegated, and so on to the mainly black, a gray, bronze, Anlan, blue and green, green and other colors. Colored pearls, is in addition to white, black outside the pearls, usually blue, in addition to red, purple, light yellow, lilac purple, green and other colors.

The luster:
The halo of fluid color. Natural pearls hardness of 2.5 to 4.5, the relative density of 2.6 to 2.78. Artificial breeding, the relative density of 2.72 to 2.78. Pearl dissolved in acid, hydrochloric acid dilute drops sparkling.
