Allison,
That's a shame. Hope it gets fixed soon.

Sunshine,
Are those yellow diamonds paved around the center rock? It looks beautiful!
Thank you!! They are not paved, the stones are a bit too big to pave...but yes, yellow diamonds.

CONGRATS on making your decision...(if you are anything like me you may change your mind a few more times! )

The plain platinum band is probably more practical, but I prefer a diamond eternity band. I have Chopard eternity band that I LOVE!

Update on my wedding band. Dropped into the jewelry store and they tried to give me grief about the lost diamond. After arguing, they are replacing my ring with another and sent it off for sizing. I get it back on Thursday.

Good to hear they could get it fixed for!

Sunshine,
Great choice on having the fancy diamonds contrast the centre stone! I love fancy diamonds but they cost an arm and a leg.. >.<

i wish! it's emerald cut which is really really similar but rectangular while an acher is square. they both have that pretty deep reflective sparkle instead of the bling-y sparkle that come from rounds and other faceted cuts. emeralds are a little easier to find and we were on a budget so i wasn't really being picky. i was happy to get a diamond at ALL! i'm alread planning my ascher upgrade though. i'm so bad.

I wore this ring for YEARS...then my husband stole it from me...or it is safe to assume that he made me believe I lost it! (Devastated!!) And then when he asked me to marry him...there was my ring...but he & my father had attached a 42 b.c. Marc Anthony coin (it's really beautiful!) on it...it is so sentimental that it is safe to assume that I am REALLY terrified to wear that one!!!!

The coin has a silver bevel/ frame to secure it onto the 3 prongs...you would have to see a pic!
I think I have posted this in two different posts (i think), but her is the pics of my engagemtent ring..anyway, it is SO special to me!

wow that is sooo awesome! i love jewelry with history. it makes it so much more meaningful.

anyways, here is mine. i love my emerald eternity band. i dont usually wear it on the same finger since it looks too much sometimes. i wear my band on the left and engagement on the right.

Amazing story! My engagement ring is four generations old. The diamond was passed down to my husband's grandfather who then turned it into the ring it is today. He then gave it to my father-in-law who used it to propose to my mother-in-law. They surprised my husband by having it restored in time for him to use it to propose to me. Needless to say, the sentimental value of this ring (and it's accompanying wedding band) are priceless. I'm terrified of losing them.

Thanks guys!

I have had so many people ask "what size diamond to you want, etc" and to be honest with you...my ring means SO much more to me than ANY other ring in the world...just the thought of losing it !

I barely wear jewelry b/c of it! Love the story about the four generations...my entire family has been collecting antiques ever since I can remember...I mean from an early 1900's serial #3 Whinchester Rifle...to toys that my grandmother had & things from all over the world! My parents house would be a SHOWCASE for an antique Estate sale!

Anyway, thank you so much for the kind words! K
