Default Vintage Jewelry and Me
just found this forum and when i logged in the message said, 'post a message.' so here goes. i have so many purses .. always looking for the perfect purse. I also have more silver vintage jewelry than i care to think about. it's great, but almost embarrassing. there is jewelry everywhere you look. the problem is this. i work in the bullion market. we buy gold and silver from jewelers, antique dealers and pawn shops that are either liquidating or wanting to cash in when the market goes up. my favorite is mexican silver jewelry, charms and religious medals. i can't stand the thought of these beauties going to the refinery to be melted. i buy them from my employer for whatever the market value is, not for it's beauty or hallmark .. i find so much that now i sell some of it on ebay. i sell charms as 'charm.farm' and vintage jewelry as 'schme.bay.' i buy for about 60 cents a gram and sell for a dollar .. the difference covers my fees, my software, packaging and a little for the time i spend. not too often, but several times a year i have tiffany, georg jensen etc .. as i said, mexican makers are my favorite, but i love the feel of scandinavian silver. it is somehow smoother. silky almost. i have probaby 200 religious medals that i make into charm bracelets. my 9 year old granddaughter has a regular charm bracelet that is so loaded with charms, i dont know how she lifts her arm. i wish i could wear all my jewelry at once ... i love it all. and it was so cheap.

i spend my ebay profits on purses. the more pockets and hiding places the more i like it .. i load them down with gadgets. another addiction. did i mention tokens ?? i collect them too because our bullion shop is also a coin store. coins bore me .. but tokens ... wow ... i love them and their history ...

are you asleep yet ??? sorry ... i am a member of On-and-on-and-on-and-on .... etc .... Diane
