Trying to find a DBTY (I want a tiny stone!)

I've decided that I really want a DBTY with a tiny stone, and I mean barely visible. I might want a bigger stone in the future but I think the tiny diamond will be really nice to layer with other pieces. I was seriously considering the 0.03 from Tiffany, which is £175 including postage, but then I thought - could I get something similar for a bit less?

I'm not particularly bothered what metal it is, but I want the stone to sit as part of the chain as in the DBTY rather than hanging off the chain. If I can get it cheaper than the Tiffany one, I might like a slightly bigger stone. Price really is important though, I would like to spend as little as possible.

I only want to buy from inside the UK if possible because the customs prices are through the roof at the minute.

Any suggestions would be great - I don't even know where to start looking!

So, you want a tiny stone or you don't? I'm confused. First you say you do, then you say you don't if you can find one cheaper.
Have you tried Etsy?

You may be able to find something other than Tiffany for less money, but it might have a heavier look. Tiffany seems to do the best at creating the very light "floating sparkle" look with their DBTY. From what I understand, not a lot of other places create such thin bezels.

Can't help you out much re: inside UK - don't know much about what's available there.

DBTY stands for Diamond By The Yard. It is a design named by Tiffany and Company, and the term has been used by the general market as well.

I have seen a couple similar ones in one or two shop windows down in Hatton Garden. But I can't give you the price on those, n the ones on display looks like maybe 0.2ct +, I can't remember and I don't know if they do any 0.03ct ones or smaller size ones. Sorry not really much help but I don't know if you are going to visit London anytime soon, you could go there to have a look as I think most of the jewellers there don't have very good websites.

If not then I think the Tiffany one would be best. As I got mine from Tiffany too! And I love it. :)

Sorry, I'm quite confused myself. I definitely don't want a large stone, I want one which is reasonably small. I'm slightly worried that the Tiffany one I can afford will be too small, so I'm looking to see if I can get a slightly bigger (but not large) stone from a different brand, rather than paying for the Tiffany name.

Because I want a really delicate necklace which I can layer, not that I should have to justify it.

0.03 ct is just too small even for layering. I would go up to at least 0.08 or bigger.

The following link is an actual diamond size chart (looks pretty close to me). Please let us know what size you would like to purchase. We would be happy to help you find something.

Of course not but then again you suggested going larger depending on the price.
You should probably look at these in real life to see how delicate the tiny size is..it may be absolutely perfect for you.
You might be able to find a tiny diamond somewhere other than Tiffany and Co although they are known for their lovely, delicate bezel setting......you will need a very dedicate setting for this size

Thanks, that's really helpful. Looking at that I feel that I probably want something between 0.1 and 1.0ct. No idea how that fits into my budget though, as it rules out Tiffany.
