Does anyone here own any titanium jewelery? Rings, especially..
I'm wedding band hunting, and DF has expressed an interest in a titanium wedding band. Part of me wants to ignore that & just get him a pretty yg ring that'll complement his nice brown skin...but if he had to make me happy with my e-ring, I want him to be happy too.... Any know anything? thanks!

Titanium rings are awesome, very durable, inexpensive and lightweight but the downside is that they are quite thick and take some getting used to. My DH likes the look of them but refuses to wear one for that reason. He finds them very uncomfortable for him. But he does often complain that his platinum one is very heavy!! Gosh, they really are just like women........a bunch of complainers!! hehe

I had originally bought my husband a white gold and diamond wedding band (he picked it out), but the work he does was really rough on his hands so the band was getting totally scratched and beaten up within the first few days. We went and bought him a titanium band to wear to work during the work week and to the gym and his diamond band was to be more for weekends and stuff. They had titanium rings for decent prices at the jewelry stores in the mall. There are a lot of inexpensive ones on overstock.com. You just need to be certain of his size though since it cannot be sized. The metal feels very lightweight. Also although it's much more durable than gold it can still get scratched up, as evidenced by my husband's ring. My husband has since switched jobs and the new one isn't as rough on his hands so he can wear his diamond band all the time now.

I think you can find some titanuim ones on the thinner side, but tungsten ones tend to be very thick and uncomfortable looking IMO.

DBF has three pieces of David Yurman titanium jewelry and he loves them. They are extremely sturdy and lightweight. He has a titanium and silver chain bracelet, a BLACK titanium and silver bangle, and a matching BLACK titanium and silver ring. The black titanium is hot, and it's also available in black titanium with 18kt gold. Here the link to black and gold bracelet just to give you an example:

I don't know much other than what has been said already.
But, I think you should get him what he wants. My dad has a yellow gold band w/ three diamonds set in a line that my mom picked out as an "upgrade" and he never took to it, but wears it b/c he feels guilty that she likes it. He'd rather have a plain band or wear nothing. |

my husband has a titanium wedding band. When we went wedding ring shopping I wanted him to get either a platinum band to match my set or at least a white gold, but he saw the titanium and fell in love. It's a blackish gunmetal color, not super thick but not thin, thin. At first I wasn't sure I liked it, but after I thought about it I realized that it made him happy and since he was wearing it everyday I wanted him to be happy. I now really like it!
He liked it because he thought it was cool looking but also because it's very durable and he likes to restore cars in his spare time. someone else mentioned he sizing which is a good point, these can't be sized so make sure before you buy. We originally bought my husband one size and then had to take it back about a week later (we hadn't gotten married yet so he had not yet worn it) and get him a smaller size, it was a bit loose and he was worried about it slipping off. |

I bought my husband a titanium band before we got married as sort of a joke - it has etched circles that look like screw heads (sort of like the Cartier Love line), and since he's always remodeling the house, it reminded me of him. He doesn't wear it often (his wedding ring is a wg & diamond band), but when he's working in the yard or running to Lowe's, he'll put the titanium one on. He's really cute about not wanting to scratch his "real" wedding band. They're pretty inexpensive (I paid less than $100 for it), so if your DF says he wants titanium, go with it! We started out thinking hubby wanted tungsten (also inexpensive, but much heavier) and ended up with diamonds, paying 20x as much! Be thankful your DF is a cheap date!

Junkenpo, my fiance will be wearing a titanium band. We have been using http://titaniumera.com/ & have been very happy with them....so much that i ordered a matching one for my self to use for travel, kids, yardwork, etc. There are a lot of great ones under "Classic/Traditional" rings....or there are some really funky ones. You can even do a silver, gold, or platinum inlay.
We also liked that we could choose the width we wanted, the finish (shiny, brushed, etc), & they have free engraving! We are having matching engraving on the inside. So basically, your fiance can completely customize his own ring! They use aircraft grade titanium, which is really durable....but it can be cut off by paramedics in case of emergency, so don't worry! (I have a several friends in that profession). Hope I helped! Good luck & let us know what you choose :) |

I have a titanium ring from Tiffany. It is very thick and substantial. It looks brand new even though I've had it for several years. I recommend titanium, but I'm not sure where to find a stylish wedding band.
Good luck! |

We both have titanium.
I am a chef so my rings can get pretty beaten up, but my wedding band looks still looks good. As for my husband, they are not allowed to wear any jewelry where he works, so his still looks really good. |
