You should consider writing a letter. Did you get their names? I'm pretty sure that's not the image Tiffany's usually portrays.

I absolutely hate bad service. It can really put a damper on your entire day. Sorry this happened to you. Unfortunately, it's not limited to high-end luxury stores. Definitely write a letter of complaint.

When my honey and I were shopping in Chicago we went into Louis Vuitton to look for a purse and the SA's there were so stuck up we couldn't help but laugh. So we went to Hermes and had the nicest SA and I bought her a Hermes purse for the spring/summer.

We had the same experience at a watch company, the jerk had the nerve to come up and tell us "the sale items are back in the corner". He lost out on $10K worth of watches........

Don't let bad SA's ruin your fun, remember most SA's couldn't afford those high ticket items to begin with

Every store has some bad SA's just ask the manager if you can work with one who isn't a snob, that's what we did and the SA was fired on the spot............

In other cities I get great service in almost all jewelry stores, LOCALLY...if it's Tiffany's or the like, I usually get ignored unless I am wearing my big honkin' fake ring and dressed schnazzy. And even then they talk down to me.

It's really a shame how SAs size you up. My sister went into Tiffany to purchase some perfume for me for Christmas, and she went in with her baby and she was ignored for at least 10 minutes. She was more patient than I would have been -- I would have been saying loudly, "I want to make a purchase, is there ANYONE in this store who wants to assist me?"

I'd write a letter, go to another store, or purchase online. The worst thing that you can do is not give them your business. Good luck!

I've been ignored in T&Co in different locations too...

At the Old Orchard/Skokie, IL location if I go in either on my own or with a female friend, we are totally and completely ignored. And I don't go shopping in sweats, I am usually dressed fairly nicely. My friend & I always know it is because we're two girls shopping together and not with a guy, so they figure we're not going to be buying anything. Big mistakes. Even if we're not buying and want to try something on... that usually means we're sending our BFs back and a bad experience may make us choose something else.

Also, we'd go in college to the Chevy Chase, MD location and it would usually be me and other girls going in to chip in for a gift for a friend and we'd totally be ignored and we'd have to go after the SAs to make a purchase or be able to look at things.

But then... in either of those stores, if I'm with my bf, brother or dad.... you better believe there is an SA waiting on us as soon as we get to the counter. It is pretty incredible.

I went into the Tiffanys in Vegas with two of my girlfriends to look at diamond eternity wedding bands. All three of us are engaged and had decent sized engagement rings on our fingers (mine, a 1.3+ ct Tiffany Co solitaire) and the SAs just completely ignored us. We went around to every single case and lingered for a good 5 minutes or more at the wedding bands section, even pointing at things and saying stuff like 'I wonder how that would look with my solitaire' and even though there were SA's within 5 feet and the store was barely busy, no one talked to us the entire time. We're mid-twenty year olds but look younger so I assume they ignored us because they wrote us off as 'just browsers' but I was still VERY offended. I just think its funny how if I go in with my fiance, they're always all over us but if I go in with a couple other girls, we get no service. Ugg.

After reading through some of these posts, I wonder if they get training that says to pay more attention to male/female couples that come in and that female-only groups seldom make purchases...

I actually received the worst customer service ever from Tiffany's as a result I will never shop there again so for me they didn't just lose one sale they lost a customer and every disatisfied custom tells 10 other people but in TPF's case 100+

Oh no, that wasn't even the case. She had the second to ask 2 other ladies right before me who just cruised on by while I was standing there ready to buy! I guess it may not have just been my attire, but my age, and race as well.

I'm so sick of being patient and nice all the time. Maybe next time I'll just scream out, Hey are you going to help me or what? Then have them help me look. Walk away find a nice SA and give them the sale. That would be nice, *evil grin*

Ugh, I know. Some SA's are so disrespectful. They're getting PAID to help us make a purchase, if they don't like helping people then maybe they need a new job.

Last time I went to Tiffany's, I walked about a mile with my mom from the Metro station to the store in 90 degree weather so, naturally, I was sweating a little. After I'd cooled down in the store, I asked to try on a few necklaces and had a hard time deciding. The SA turned to another SA and started whispering about how we were trying on so much stuff and we probably weren't even going to buy anything. I was the last one smirking as I walked out of that store, blue bag and Tiffany necklace in hand.

Beautiful ring BTW.

I hate rude SA's, it's not like we as customers held a gun to their heads and say "Work at Tiffany's or I'll pull the trigger!" They chose to work there and are ultimately getting paid hourly to assist us in making purchases. And who wouldn't want to make a few extra bucks off commission just for doing your job diligently?

I think it's sad that people feel like they need to shop in all of their name brand glory in order to get any respect at the store. I don't care if you're wearings jeans and a raggedy shirt if you come in as a customer and you are acting appropriately you should be treated in a professional manner. When you are not corporate offices need to be made aware.

When I worked on the cruise ships, it was important to treat everyone the same, the same manky people are just as important as the smartly dressed people. With regards to Tiffany, I find the service mixed in the UK and I am glad to say that I do not fancy anything at all in Tiffany to purchase. for some reason in the UK, in some circles Tiffany has gone down and I think it is due to so many fakes wearing it in London. I would still buy Tiffany for presents but that it, even then I would shop in Links of London first.x
