I got the Peretti Teardrop Earrings a few months ago but I've had a hard time wearing them because they are so thick. Has anyone else had this problem and if so what have you done about it? I was thinking I'd just wear some really thick studs for a while so my holes will open a bit more but the Teardrop Earrings are really tight right now and a little painful. I really like them so I want to be able to wear them. Any ideas?

Hm... sounds painful! Maybe rub a little neosporin on the earrings to help your ear holes stretch? Good luck!

I have these earrings too...and before these earrings i got the open heart earrings. I DO know what you're talking about regarding the thickness. LOL, i was like, WHOA! When i took them off, my earring holes would be a little swollen (not fun, thought they were a little infected, but it turns out that the posts are just a little on the thick side). But i think my ear holes have gotten use to the thickness, otherwise they have stretched.
Take Elle Tee's advice and put some neosporin to help your ear holes stretch, or some vasaline so they'll slide more easily through. |

I have this problem with mine, too. I never realized the post is bigger than average. Now it makes sense. My ears are always red and sore when I wear these earrings. I even avoid wearing them lately because they're painful. Good idea about the neosporin!

Those are really nice earrings! Part of the problem could be that those are one of the few earrings made by Tiffany's that don't have white gold posts.

there are plenty of sterling silver earrings that Tiffany makes and i've noticed that their posts are relatively the same size.

hmm i have these earrings too and even though i dont think theyre painful once i'm wearing them i HATE actually putting them on bc the post is so long and you have to sort of weave it through your ear and angle it right. what i've been doing is using rubbing alcohol (applied with a cotton ball all over the back half of the earring that actually goes through your piercing) and that helps them slide in plus disinfects and prevents infection (which i always get - my david yurman cookie studs are the worst).

Wow it's funny seeing this post because I was looking at those earrings online and liking them. The ones I was looking at were the platinum posts because I have such severe metal allergies and only platinum works. Is that what you have? If the posts are that thick, I couldn't wear them, I returned a pair of earrings once because the posts were too thick and hurt too much.
