Oh my! I am utterly converted!!

I must admit to not noticing pearls really (sorry!) - but then I was whiling away some insomniac, jetlagged hours this morning and found this fascinating thread!

Stunning designs and gorgeous "balls".

A quick question - which colour do you experts think would best suit a mid-forties pale Caucasian?

^Expat, I think pearls are beautiful on anyone, no matter the color! But having to choose, I'd go for white south seas or pastel Tahitians-- they GLOW!

Well I'm a pale caucasian and prefer White South Seas, Silver and Silver gray Tahitians and also dark dark gray Tahitians on my skintone. I often recommend to consider which color metal jewelry you wear a lot. If you prefer white gold, often the cooler tones will feel most comfortable on you (silver-blue, steel gray or metallic silver Tahitians, platinum white South Seas, peacock green Tahitians) If you wear a lot of yellow gold- you might prefer the warmer tones (aubergine-eggplant Tahitians, coppery browns, Deep Golden Yellow, Champagnes and cream South Seas or pastel pink Freshwater Pearls)

And on a similar note... Recently I was chatting with tpfer Saligator on the phone and she mentioned something she was reading about people tending to look best in things that match shapes and sizes found on their face; ie... earrings the same length of your eyebrow or pear shaped drops if you have a heart shaped face. I thought that was a really interesting concept and of course makes sense

I'm drooling over multicoloured tin-cups atm and have a tendency to go for big, assymetrical shapes... so I guess my face is erm...wonky

I love the earrings because they are jackets and they can be worn with any stud earrings.

My pistachio necklace.

They were all bought from wonderful Japster.

*sigh* they're all so gorgeous on you!

thanks ladies for your nice comments

and r1ta_s, I don't know where the big freshwater strand was purchased; it was a gift. (I forgot to post pics of my smaller, longer strand of freshwaters from DH, and another long multicolored freshwater strand and some silver Tahitian earrings that match my necklace...will do so later on).
