Default Suggestions Please for a Necklace for the Wedding Gown
Or should I forgo the necklace altogether & just be bare-necked and bare-shouldered? The dress is pretty simple... is the embroidery at the bust enough "fluff"?

My "something borrowed" is my mum's pearl studs like these but I'm having trouble finding something I'm happy with for my neck....

So here's the dress, and a close up of the bust & embroidery...

TIA!

That's a beautiful dress! Well, since your dress has tiny pearls and you already have pearl earrings, how about a classic pearl strand a tad longer than a choker.

There's a lot you can do with a dress like that! I think there are lots of necklaces that would work if you're going with simpler, more classic earrings.

There's the pearl strand: http://www.bluenile.com/pearl-strands

Really, any of the pearl necklaces here would work: http://www.bluenile.com/pearl-neckla...ce_channel.asp

I especially like the garland necklace: http://www.bluenile.com/freshwater-p...d=92&set_shape=

and the single pearl on the multi-chain: http://www.bluenile.com/freshwater-p...d=92&set_shape=

The tin cup necklace is also really pretty: http://www.bluenile.com/freshwater-p...d=92&set_shape=

Of course, you can always do something different. I love some of these from Carrie D. Mader:

If you want more elaborate, this one's gorgeous: http://www.carriedmader.com/Merchant...D/necklace/033

The other bridal:

Hope some of these give you some ideas! It's a beautiful dress. Congrats!

I think this dress would look gorgeous with no necklace at all, nothing to detract from the beautiful beadwork. But if you want to wear a necklace, a simple drop pearl or a diamond solitaire necklace would be look elegant without competing too much with the dress. What a fabulous gown!!

My dress was very embellished on the bodice and I skipped a necklace and went with a bigger earring than normal.

I agree that with all the beautiful embroidery on your dress, you should go bare necked so as not to take away from that embroidery. I prefer a more minimalist style in general, though. Either way, I'm sure you will look great, congratulations on you upcoming wedding!

i say go for a pear necklace... chocker or a tad longer (as burrberyp suggested) or a more simple idea is single pearl on the multi-chain (as purple rose suggested) either of whihc you can wear multiple times after hte wedding as they aren't too OTT

I would have voted to go bare neck and do pearl drops for your earrings but as your earrings are your "something borrowed" I would just go with a pearl choker.

Congratulations!!

I'd go bare neck, I think that would look really elegant plus you don't want to distract from your dress.

I had a strapless dress with a lot of detailing at the bust so I skipped the necklace. The earrings I wore were actually very similar to the ones you're borrowing from your Mum (mine were from my Mum too ). I decided to wear a fancy bracelet instead so I wore a pearl/crystal bracelet (pic)

Oh you could wear a diamond necklace and not only enhance the beading but your entire face. I checked google images and I was immediately drawn to this type of necklace, it would match your gown. Or anything that drapes in a curve, nothing too angular or too choker).

Department stores have really lovely bridal sets you can try on and get some good ideas
