I just started getting into Tiffany jewelry and I started wondering how all of you store your pieces? Most of my jewelry is in plastic Ikea trays in an Ikea organizer, but it seems a shame to throw my Tiffany in with the others. Do you keep silver pieces in the little pouch they come in and in their original boxes or something else? I love the white ribbon on the box and want to leave it on, but it certainly wouldn't be practical to open the ribbon all the time!

I would recommend keeping the silver jewelry in the Tiffany pouches as it helps prevent tarnishing as well as tangles with other necklaces. I keep all of my jewelry organized by type: bracelets are together in a giant pouch, necklaces are together in a giant silver box with handles, etc. Then all of the pouches/boxes are placed inside a large black zippered cloth box (got it at The Container Store). That way, I can just take the large black box out from the closet and it has all of my jewelry organized inside of it.
I've kept all of my Tiffany blue boxes with ribbon in a cabinet drawer but none of the pouches are in them. |

This may be a stupid question, but if you keep them in the pouches how can you differentiate what is what?

i keep my silver pieces in individual plastic pouches and then put them in their blue bags. silver pieces tarnish easily and needs to be sealed up when not in use. i keep all my blue boxes and my platinum pieces in their velvet boxes.

I store them in their original pouches and then put all of the pouches in the ceramic blue bow box from Tiffany's.

I just keep them in my regular jewelry box! If I don't see it, I won't wear it.

I keep them all in a drawer in their pouches and boxes, stick a black on clear label with the name of the item on the side of the box and store them label side up

These are great ideas everyone! Keep 'em coming! I really like the idea of the blue ceramic box from Tiffany's. I looked it up on the website and it's so cute. How many pouches fit in the ceramic box for you TylerDurden?
I also really like the idea of labelling either the boxes or the pouches as I am like others on here in that if I don't see it, I don't wear it! I don't have a labeller so I would have to use some other method. Putting silver pieces in individual plastic bags and then in pouches is smart. Are they just really small ziploc-type bags and, if so, can you buy them anywhere? The only thing I'm wondering about this is if it is better for the piece itself to touch plastic or to touch the smooth pouches?? Which is better for preventing tarnishing? I may try putting the pouches into a plastic bag. |
