Settings with colored stones? Ideas?

I was given a 2ct round diamond from my grandma. I want to set is a ring with colored stones in the setting. My ering is also a round stone with pears sides, so I want something a bit different. Please help me with some ideas! I am in the NY area so if anyone knows any good jewelers that would help. Thanks ladies!

Have you looked at faycullen.com? TONS of fab ideas. Some of the workmanship leaves a bit to be desired on some pieces, but you could get someone to re-create if you have issues with the craftsmanship. I've never seen the pieces in person, but some of the photos concern me with shank thickness, etc.

Maybe something bigger? Like this but with gemstone of your choice where the onyx is. Is your grandma's diamond an antique cut? If so then maybe it would look good in an antique style setting?
