^ I was thinking the exact same thing a couple of hours ago. I think she will wear it since it's somewhat of a tradition, but I'd rather see something different for a change..

The Swedish family (and their jewels) are stunning!

A bit off topic, but can someone tell me what the significance is of European royalty wearing sashes? Is it solely to display brooches?

I believe the sashes are for the orders, and the pattern or colors of the sashes are representing the different countries/royal houses. Most often the order is hanging at the end of the band, around the waist area. The brooches are just extra decorations.

I love the cameo tiara, so I don't mind that. But I really hope she will pick a stunning dress, judging from her taste the chance that she is going to choose a pretty but slightly boring dress is very high...

Actually I think each sash is part an order, and acts as a replacement of the collar. Basically every royal house has one special order that they only give to the family members, members of some other royal houses or head of the state of a republic, and these are the orders you see people wearing using the sashes.

The most valuable of the Queen's Tiaras
The necklace is 200+ years old






1870's Tiara that Princess Margaret wore on her wedding (1960).
After her death it was sold at Christie's for more than 1.5 million dollars (US)
