Default round diamond in bezel mount..it can look good?
Hi everyone!I'm married, but I don't have a real engagement ring,so I've asked my husband to give me a ring when we have a child (hope soon). My husband don't like jewelry at all, don't have any idea on what but and what not,and even hate spend money so he said yes but with a limited budget, even because we are so young and we don't have so much money, and leave the researce all in my hands.I'm not yet pregnant () but I'm so excited on the ring, and I'm started the search, even because I'm still so amazed by diamond and engagement rings world because I've discovered it recently and every ring still look beautiful at my eyes so I can need several times to decide!I've even full a 2gb usb key with engagement rings picture
But I've found myself really like the pavè and bezel diamond settings, particullary the diamond surprise settings.I think that a cushion diamond can look great in,and I'm even wonder how a radiant(cut that I love) can look in.
But I've never seen a cushion or radiant diamond in person,so I'm a little afraid on buy something I've never seen.
Cushion look so beautiful in all your pics, but it sparkly like others cuts?Radiant have to be so sparkly and beautiful, but they can look good in a bezel setting?
For the money I can spend I've found a set that I really like with a round cut.I'm not sure about a round in a bezel, but the setting is perfect, and I have a round diamond,so I know how it can look.this is the ring

So,what do you think of it?And even, what do you think of cushion cut,it sparkly? And a radiant can look good in a setting like this?If some of you have a ring like the one I've posted, can you post me some images?
Sorry for the long post! Thanks for all the advice you can give to me

I think rounds look great bezel set! You picked one w/ a halo around the stone too, but even w/o that, I like it. Very clean, no snagging issues on things. I don't think I've seen a cushion or radiant in person bezel set, but w/ custom work, anything can be done for the most part.

Here's a cushion in bezel, from Pricescope.com attached. It won't let me copy the image.

As for sparkle w/ radiants and cushions- it is all about the cut. Some cushions have chunkier, antique faceting- which I love and some are not as defined. W/ radiants, some have a crushed ice look- those are my faves- and some have more defined facets. It's preference, but either way, you need a well cut stone.

Thank you!I'm looking on bezel set after find some bezel rings on pricescope.I really fall in love with this kind of setting and I've seen on the site pics of many cushion set in bezel, and they looks pretty, but sometimes not sparkly and this bother me because I really love sparkly things I find radiant very attractive even because they look like crazy sparkly, but honestly I don't like too much square bezel.

I love radiants, they do sparkle a lot- esp. the crushed ice kind. I think you could do a bezel set radiant though, and perhaps the edges could be softened up somehow, esp. if you had it custom made.

I think the look you are seeking is considered a "halo". I personally love halo's they give you a very "blingy" look and also make your stone look bigger than it is. My upgrade will be halo'ed--I will post pics--when it is finished...still waiting Good luck with your search!

I think it is considered bezel because is set without prongs maybe I'm wrong, but I still love it I love the sparkle too!I'm sure your upgrade will be beautiful and sparkly!
Yes,I was even considered a custom made, but I'm afraid that I cannot find someone that can set the stone in the setting(when i've asked for a bezel in a jeweller here, they look at me like I've said something crazy..this is a small small town with small small jeweller..)..and even it goes to be more expensive.

what you posted from ebay is called a halo design.. it is a perfect way to make a smaller diamond look bigger!

there is a halo thread on this board.. check it out for more ideas

okay--gotcha!! by looking at the pic you posted what you are thinking about is a halo that is bezel set--you can have halo's with prongs or halo's bezeled. the halo is the diamonds all the way around the center stone. as for your jeweler problem I don't know how to answer that--I have a local guy that is wonderful but my best advice is to take in a pic of what you want to the jeweler and ask if they can recreate--if you do a google for bezeled halo's you should be able to find plenty of pics to copy. good luck!!
