Question Rolex Expert Needed Please

Hi Ladies,

Sorry for the re-post, but I did post this late last night on the authentication thread, with no responses.

I would reaallly love to know your thoughts on the watch re: authenticity, age, and anything else you think is important.

Looking for some Rolex experts on this one:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWN:IT&ih=012

I am going to take this to a local jeweler once it's in my hands. Just wanted to find out what the experts think on the forum.

Thanks ladies!

It's quite hard to authenticate this watch from the pictures posted as most of the shots are not ideal for authentication. I'm not very comfortable with the way logo looks from the picture showing the back of the watch strap. But the photo quality is quite poor and it's hard to tell. It's best to get it authenticated at a Rolex center closest to you. It's a very good price to pay for the watch, though.

I won it late last night after chatting with this seller, who did respond to all my questions promptly. Says it was his girlfriend's mothers, was taken to a jewelers recently and told it was definitely authentic, about 10yrs old. I am planning on paying tonite when I get home from work.

Just wanted to see what you think about it, whethter it was a definite/obvious fake or not.

Does the seller have a "certificate of authentication" from the jeweler? Did the jeweler open up the watch to check the insides? Does the jeweler sell Rolexes? Or does the seller have a recent service/repair slip from Rolex Centres? Also - the gaps between the links on the bracelet - does look a bit wrong.

Yes, he says that they took the watch to a jeweler who did open it and said it was authentic. I do not know the specifics of which jeweler and what his/her specialty is.

I think it is from the mid-90s.
