I'm so happy I get to choose a rolex for my birthday coming up in a couple of months!

Now i've always always wanted a daytona with black dial..
my only problem is i can't decide between steel or yellow gold!
i'm not interested in 2-tone or rose gold

now i've thought this through, and i wear both gold and silver jewelry, i don't have more of one, so i need your help. which is timeless? which will i get more use out of? arghhjvfoj i wish i could have both lol

help me decide please. i'm turning 20, and female, if that helps

Do you prefer one tone over the other ? Is there one tone that suits you better ? (e.g. I CANNOT for the life of me wear gold tone jewellery..)

If you buy gold, buy pre-owned. They depreciate horribly.

That said, the Daytona should always be in SS or white gold!

I prefer the SS Daytona. It goes better with the black dial. Plus the Daytona is a big watch. In gold, there's just too much going on. I just cannot imagine Paul Newman in a gold Daytona. It's way too flashy.

I checked them out today...

there's the stainless steel, white gold, and yellow gold
they didn't have the stainless steel for me to see, but in the photos it looks just like the white gold, but the price difference is huge! apparently, the SS weighs less, but can anyone explain to me other physical differences between the SS and white gold?

I honestly think you would be happier with the SS ... they look (nearly) identical to the eye and the SS is VERY light ... all of the gold ones are super heavy.

This watch also comes in rose gold ... not everyone's cup of tea but I thought I would mention it.

Let us know what you decide! Also, I think there is a wait list for the SS version.

even though i thought i'd up choosing yellow gold coz i think it's less masculine, i'm definitely leaning towards the SS

i think he told me i can order the SS and it wouldn't take long, so i don't think theres a waiting list here. but i wish i could see it and try it on before ordering :S

that's awesome .. there is a long waiting list for the SS here and I figured I wouldn't bother since I really wanted the Yellow Gold anyway.

If you tried on the white gold it will look the same IMO ... so if you liked the white gold you will love the SS too.

I am getting a SS daytona (on the waitlist), I am thinking about either the white or black face. Have a look at both first, lots of people prefer either face and some people get both colours. The main difference with the WG and SS is mainly the weight. The everose - rose gold one is lush as well.

I mix jewellery, my e ring and wedding band are plat and I sometimes wear gold, I tend to match it to the hardware of my bags.Lol!

I'm with you Sammy... I mix my jewelry ... especially bracelets . Just look at Elle Macpherson she mixes everything with her yellow gold daytona!
