Default Resetting Diamond Earrings

I have a pair of 1.15 cttw diamond studs set in a white gold basket setting with six prongs. I have considered having the diamonds reset in either a four prong basket or martini setting. Would it be worth it to upgrade to platinum settings when I have this done? Thanks in advance!

I don't personally think the extra $ in platinum for studs is worth it.
I'd definitely fo w/ 3 prong martini's, but I get all my studs in white gold.
Go w/ what YOU really want, if more people will answer I'm guessing we'll be split down teh middle on this.
