Do you have any preference for earrings, bracelets, necklace, rings? It seems from your post you would prefer to get her earrings. You are such a sweet boyfriend for taking such care in picking out her gift!

No, I'm related to a family outside of the United States and my first name is Nader. I will check out Cartier today and see what I find. Thanks.

Harry Winston is sort of high end, even though they have pieces that are not extremely expensive. I tink Harry Winston is better for a wife than a girlfriend, lol.

Okay a little opinion on jewelry at Barney's New York: I hate it!!! They have the most odd looking jewelry I have seen in a high end department store. I don't know what the proper word is to describe the pieces at Barney's, but I guess its fair to say they are kind of "contemporary" for my taste. Some of them have sort of a "tribal" look. I don't know, I just find them odd.

Neiman Marcus has a great precious jewelry salon, but I honestly think Saks beats both of them on fine jewelry. They have a great selection of designer fine jewelry and a nice collection of estate jewelry that is very well priced.

I don't know, I never limit myself to a particular piece, just whatever stands out to me the most.

There are some amazing j12 watches. Does your mom and girlfriend have one of those? Even if they do, perhaps they would like a second. Many people here have both the black and the white one. I love the diamond markers. But they also come with ruby or emerald ones. There are several sizes - 33mm is battery and 38mm is automatic. I have the plain white 38mm. But it would be awesome to have a black one too. Unfortunately it will not happen in this lifetime!

I have mixed feelings about Chanel jewelry. Chanel fine jewelry is beautiful but it can get sort of "costume-like" at times, idk why. She doesn't have any, but maybe she would like one and the price is reasonable too, I recall something just above $4,000 for a plain one or around $6,000 for the bigger one. I will check out the store today and see. Chanel has gorgeous women's suits (the classic one's, not the scary one's you sometimes see, and lovely handbags, but the jewelry I could live without. But then again I'm a guy so maybe I don't fully understand the whole interest with Chanel and women.)

Another vote here for VCA--the butterfly turquoise necklace always gets my heart pumping. Last time I was in the Beverly Hills store my SA had an American accent so maybe you need to go at a different time of day. Also, my favorite SA is at the Palazzo shop in Las Vegas and I'm sure she'd be happy to ship.

Oh no, I wouldn't say diamonds are ever "same old" for a girl. At least I haven't met that girl. lol. Not a big fan of those long necklaces. I hope you get it for your birthday!!

thanks! they make short ones too... http://www.tiffany.com/Shopping/Item...+yard&search=1

i have a feeling this may not be your style...but pandora bracelets are amazing! theyre always unique and one-of-a-kind because theyre totally customizable, they have silver, gold, diamonds, gems, any colors or nuetral- you can pick beads that symbolize meaningful trips or events in your relationship- major romantic potential there! if she is sentimental at all she would love one

here's an example:

Okay so today I browsed quite a few stores and I came across a set (not a set, but I will make it a set) of beautiful Tiffany & Co sapphire earrings and a sapphire ring to match! I'm going to get her a Buccellati sterling silver jewelry box to put them in and wrap it up for her in beautiful white wrapping with a silk pink bow and a small Jay Strongwater love bird ornament to go with it. I think the pieces are classic and she can wear them now and when she is older, too.

Here is a link to the earrings, but I couldn't find the ring online. Now only to figure out where to take her to dinner and then I'm done for one year, thank god, lol. Then I can relax until Christmas, lol.

Thank you. Oh and I forgot to mention earlier.....I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who took a few minutes to chip in a piece of advice......and I think its only appropriate that yo are thanked in some way. So, seeing that this is a fashion forum with fashion savvy (and somehwat fashion hungry, lol) women, I have a $500 gift card from Tiffany & co that I don't really don't have any use for, so if you are interested let me know and I will gladly give it to you.

Thanks again and I'll keep checking in every so often (most of the time from my blackberry) to give advice or to get some. Regards -Nader
