I have the Roadster and Tank Francaise. The bracelet bands are scatched, the Roadster's high polish finish shows more. Has anyone ever had them polished to remove scratches?

I haven't, but have thought about it. I wonder if an ad would be able to help out?

I haven't had this done but am thinking about it - I have noticed a scratch on the band of my Tank F (two tone). I'm going to Sydney in a couple of weeks and I plan to visit the Cartier store while I'm there and just ask them what they would recommend. I wouldn't do it without checking with Cartier first.

i have a stainless steel tag watch and although it's no cartier or rolex, i have taken it to my jeweler to be cleaned and polished. it came back looking good as new! i was pleasantly surprised with how good it looked.
so if there isn't a rolex or cartier dealer nearby where you can easily take it to be polished, perhaps go to your trusted jeweler and see what they can do. |

It can be easily done. Take it to any fine jewelry store. I've done it to all my watches and they look brand new.

I had scratches all over my stainless Tank and took it to Cartier...they did an amazing job. It looked brand new afterwards.

Try a Cape Cod polishing cloth. I learned about this from the guys in the Panerai forum.

When I bought my Cartier stainless it came with a cloth and spray and it works great.

I send my Patek Phillipe for annual battery replacement and it comes back looking brand new. The scratches most definitely can be buffed away.

when i took my tag into an authorized tag dealer this week (i needed them to add another link to make it bigger), she said they can leave it in a special solution for 3 days which removes all the gunk and stuff that tends to happen with watches over time. obviously, if you want it buffed and polished, that's something different, but for $30, she said she can leave it in this special cleaning solution.
maybe inquire about that, too. |

I had my Cartier Tank Francaise fully serviced by an AD, including maintenance and polish of the bracelet. They have worked through every link. It looks almost like a brand new watch.
